My only finish for this month is the above tablecloth. It took me longer than I expected to make, since I did frayed edges. I should have taken a photo of all huge ball of threads that I pulled out! The tablecloth got smaller and smaller… thankfully I started big enough 🙂 I bought the fabric at Spotlight for $3 a meter, and I am quite pleased with the end result.
Other than that, I have been working on Daniel’s snowball quilt. It is soooooo close to being ready, but I know it isn’t going to be done this month! We just had too many other things on, like Matt’s birthday….. and then a week later Elizabeth’s birthday….
Matthew, my baby, turned 11! Unreal! He requested breakfast in bed, so here he is, fully dressed, having Milo, scrambled eggs and toast, and that is a leftover donut on the right just in case he was still hungry!
Elizabeth turned 13, and is growing up to be quite a young lady. She got to sit in my chair with her feet up to open her pressies 🙂 She got spoiled by Alice with lots of crafty things, and some fabric from us as well:
Can you tell her favorite color is purple?? Just like Alice…. 🙂
And now it is school holidays for two weeks. I think we are all ready for it. I plan to visit my parents, sew a bit, and try to organize the boys’ room. The latter is well overdue! I’m sure there are many bits and pieces of toys and stuff that they have outgrown. I haven’t done a big sort out for ages, so I want to try to do that. Hopefully I’ll pop back in over the next fortnight with some sewing updates!
Bout time you updated – a little slow on the news! 🙂 You forgot to mention sewing with a friend!! I do hope you can pop back in with more sewing updates over the next couple of weeks! We should achieve something together and also on your own!! I also plan on a clean up – either office (most urgent), our bedroom or kids toys (also outgrown – but then i might wait until Kahle is in his own room – you can't move in their room at the moment and that drives me crazy!). I have already started a finishing off quilt spurt – I have finished a flannel table topper, finishing tonight a mystery christmas wall hanger and half way through the finishing edges on a prairie point folk art medallion quilt (which I did in a class in 2000!). After that is my snow flake medallion and the friendship quilt of vintages roses for Caitlin – the later 2 I am to finish as quilt tops only at this point. I will book them in for quilting. I hope to do a lot of this at your house! I also have a small wall hanging to finish and two to quilt. I have pulled them out of the cupboard to ensure I finish them. I have sorted the two class cabinets into one side of finished! Very impressive and motivating!! And the other side of 'to finish'. 3 large ones in there at the moment, partially finished, one of which is my first ever quilt, suppose to be for Kahle's bed as an infant!! How time flies since he is now 14!!

It seems there's a few of us with daughters turning 13! Miss Sunshine is going to a Bell sleepover tomorrow night for just such a celebration. I look at the two of them and wonder how I got to be old enough to have a child in her teens! And then I look at the other parents and wonder when we stopped playing together and started doing grown up stuff?!
I hear you're in for a rather special weekend visit. Have fun…I'll try not to be too jealous LOL.
Your new tablecloth is pretty! It matches your cabinets so well.
Happy Bday to your sweeties!
Hi Joy, glad to see your still there….like the strips… you have got more done then I lately…the kids Birthdays are great… enjoy them, as they grow up too fast…
Yvonne, you've just made my head spin with all the stuff you are doing! Wonderwoman!!
Tracy, yes, the 13 yr old Bell is 5 days younger than Elizabeth, not that you'd think so!! LOL! And we're all looking forward to our visitors this weekend:) You'll have to come one day too!
Thanks Mama Hen, I thought the colors would go well in my kitchen, and when I got the fabric home I was quite pleased.
Wendy, thanks for dropping by again. Yes, you are right, they grow up way too fast.. I miss those chubby little faces and cuddles!
Oh My god!! Your kids are all grown up!! I didn't even recognize them!!
Happy belated birthday.
