That’s what I was working on the past few days – covers for travel tissues 🙂 I remember in high school we had a Japanese student join us for a few years, and she had these cute little covers for her tissues. Of course a search on the internet now and there are quite some tutorials to do these. I based my covers on this tutorial. They were really quick and easy to make. The main problem I had was finding travel tissues that had the opening on the side – most of them have them at the end of the packet these days.
On the weekend we drove to the inlaws to pick up our dog who had been in sheep training with Grandpa. Grandpa decided she had too much energy and he had too little, so we got her back 🙂 On the way we stopped in Horsham for a break and I ducked into one of those cheap shops. After a bit of searching I managed to find the right tissues! I was quite pleased 🙂 If you look very very carefully, you can see Jules the sheep dog (and a few chookies) in the photo behind the tissue covers! And.. see the drops of rain? It has turned grey and wintery outside… the perfect weather to sit next to the fire and hand sew the binding on a quilt….
What a great idea!
Thanks Cosmic 🙂 I tried to leave a comment on your beautiful quilt, but something is playing up with my computer 🙁 Thanks for dropping by.
Okay, stop already 🙂 You are seriously showing me up! You do such creative and beautiful work. You are inspiring me though. When Abbie and I went to the American Girl store I was appalled at how much the doll's clothes cost. I actually thought, "I bet I could make some of these doll clothes if I practiced a bit." What do you think I should name my sewing machine? Bless her heart, she has probably forgot what a human is, tucked away in the water heater closet under a bunch of old duffle bags.
Hee hee, Mama Hen.. I am stopping already…!! I have run out of creativity and need to get back to homeschooling and homemaking I think!
What kind of machine do you have? Digging her out of the cupboard is a good start, and I'm sure you could make some dolls clothes – they would have to be easier than Barbie clothes.. they are fiddly!!There must be some patterns around. It would be a good project for you and Abbie to do!
Hi Joy–thanks for the email–and yes I will add your name to the Aug challenge–and I thought I did tooo many bom's from the internet–but look at your list???? I will be back soon to visit–I am getting a late start tonight!!! Hugs, just, Di from quiltingisblissful
Thanks Di! Actually, I am not doing all the boms in my list… I have two lists 1. to do now and 2. to do later.. hee heee, much later?! I'm trying to get dh to fix my browser so I can comment on your blog.
