Phew! It has taken a while, but Nine Patch Nirvana is done! Alice and I started this bom back in 2009. I finished the top last year sometime but wanted it quilted by Nora on the long arm… instead I got to practice on it myself 🙂 You’ve heard of dog eared quilts? Well, this one was elephant eared… I really don’t know how it happened, but lesson learned, need to be more careful with my borders..
Anyway, I was so keen to finish and use it that I was lazy and did the binding completely by machine:
2017 Update: see my tutorial on How to Attach Binding by Machine!
Tiana supervised… or was she watching the birds?
Called Matt to hold the quilt up for the final photo:
It’s a big quilt… come on Matt, hold it up…
Up Matt, Up!!
Hmmmm….. better call in big brother to help….
That’s better… 🙂 I’ll have to crop it…
Yay! All done and I put it into use right away. Cameron was very pleased because now I don’t need to pinch his all the time 🙂
Nirvana is gorgeous Joy!
What would we do without quilt holder-up-ers? 🙂
Very nice JOy! Well done. Are there any close ups of the quilting?
Very beautiful quilt, Joy. Lucky you to have two boys to help you with your displaying.
How pretty! I'm glad your quilt holders finally gave us the full view.
It looks great, i see no dog ears or elephant ears looks perfect to me <3
Hugs,
PS
Miss you!
Congratulations on finishing your quilt! I always sew my bindings on by machine, so I don't think you're lazy at all! :0)
I love the colors! And you have good helpers.
Too funny about your boys. Those quilts can be heavy.

Nirvana indeed!!! Gorgeous!!! I just cracked up with your quilt holder. Too funny!!
