On the weekend we headed down the road for another 10 hour round trip to get more fabric. I have such a wonderful husband who doesn’t mind driving me for these important road trips 🙂 But five hours in the car is a long time and there is nowhere to break the trip, so it does get a bit boring. There are lots of petrol stations along the way, with signs a bit different to ours back home:
Sometimes there are fun little dusty shops to look at, and the actual petrol station shop is like a little supermarket with all sorts of wonderful things for sale! I must remember to take some photos one day…. I do enjoy looking in them quickly while dh fills up with petrol.
On the way back it was windy and stormy. Lot of sand blowing over the road. I tried to take a photo, but you can’t really see the sand blowing across:
So to occupy myself during driving time I worked on yoyos:
And in the hotel staying the night I did some knitting:
We did a bit of shopping in the town over there. There are lots of shops and restaurants that we would see back home too:
No, we didn’t stop there 🙂 Just took the photo in passing…
Finally home again with the most important things from the trip:
Now to find a place to put it all!!!! Who wants to come and help?!
me me me …I’d help in a flash LOL…it truly is great to have a hubby that does that mine would too…gee your vehicle would be sandblasted in no time driving in that ?? Thanks for sharing pictures of your outings from accross the miles-I find it lovely to be able to view them…cheers Vickie
Oh my. We’re spoiled here in the states, aren’t we? 15 minutes to fabric. There’s not much that makes me happier than a pile of new fabric.
