A Creative Mess

My sewing room has been in a state of disarray the last few days ie a mess. But it is a creative one, and they are allowed, right? Elizabeth dragged out her paint, glue, lace, etc to make a sort of 3D painting:
On the other side of the table I was sorting out buttons:
About four months ago I ordered some packets of mixed buttons. I didn’t expect them to be mixed up in the parcel itself though – the individual packets weren’t sealed tight, so buttons were all over the place. Up till now I haven’t had the time to repackage them, but finally I made a start. First came the sorting, then putting them into little bags. I did the latter while Skype Sewing with Alice last night – well, she sewed, I packed buttons 🙂 I have a nice big tub of buttons for the shop now:
I tried to sort them according to size. I have a big jar of “large” buttons that I will sell individually because they are great for things like bags. Then I sorted the smaller ones like the ones in the pic above. I still have hundreds of mini buttons to sort and package… I might get a chance to do that today in between school and chores.
Don’t you just love creative messes?!
Looks a bit like my work room at the moment, stuff everywhere, all of it creative stuff though. I just might have to try Skype Sewing with a friend of mine, do you hold up blocks etc and show them to each other??
Oh yes creative messes are the bestest in the world…love playing with buttons, cheers Vickie
Creative mess is allowed! My wee ‘studio’ gets like that with every project! Funny about the buttons. Diana was here Sunday going through my very large button jars to replace 3 pearl ones on Hollyanne’s fav sweater. Wish i could Skype Sew from here too. Cannot do on Hughes Net. Sigh.
Looks like Elizabeth got to have all the fun. Though there definitely is a joy in getting things sorted and organized. And I love the Sky Flakes container from the Philippines. My sister, who still lives there, has found a place in the U.S. where we can get them now and then. And I, too, use the boxes for my sewing organizing.
Looks like fun!! Sure are pretty now that I can really see what colors your were playing with!
