A New Toy!

Did you know that it can be fun to have your own fabric shop?! Sometimes it is stressful too, but… it at least it gives you an excuse to buy new toys! Yesterday I spent all day playing with a new toy I got just before Christmas:
Yep, a Studio Cutter (affiliate link) 🙂 And I love it! It cuts fabric like butter!!! The dies are sturdy, the mats are too, and it makes for such easy cutting. Also I can cut lots more to make kits for the shop:
It did take longer than I expected to make up 8 kits of 100 tumblers each… I now have a new appreciation for Moda and their precuts…!
I did a demonstration for my customers this morning on how to put together a quick tumbler quilt. Last night I tested it and put together the 100 blocks in about an hour and a half. Not bad really for a quilt top. Sorry, forgot to take a pic in the daylight, will try to remember tomorrow.
The night before, I finished the third thread catcher and I am happily on schedule (for a change):
I have also been working on my list of UFO’s, WIPs & WISPs…. sigh…. go check it out here! If there was a competition, I’d bet I would win 🙂
All the UFO’s fit in two tubs that fit under the school table:
Now I know I will never get ALL of them done in the next year, but I think I will aim to only have one tub by the end of the year. Do you think that is possible?! It’s a goal at least 🙂
Better go and make a start…..!
Hmmm, think we might be neck and neck on the projects side of things!! That cutter looks fab!
A told me you got this. Have fun! A and I need a GO day soon too!
OK, so when I looked at your list I noticed a few that I need to find first. Which means there is at least another tub of stuff somewhere.
Your baskets are so cute–yep I need to get busy.
L,A-
How fun with your new toy… and i love the baskets… and am so happy that someone has more UFO’s than me……
Hugz
Love to see your tumbler quilt…I have one of those on my ‘wish’ list to make.
Good idea to have all UFO’s in one place 🙂
I do think you are the winner–but then I am not adding mine up this year!!!
I did get alot finished off last year–but sadly–I see that I have some left, plus, added some last year!! So my goal again this year is working on the unfinished ones and trying to hand quilt as many of the tops as I can–and of course–adding to the pile!!!!!lol
Love your thread catchers–my book is here now–but I need to work on my 3rd Jo Morton mini quilt top for class on Sunday where we will be getting #4 to do!!!!!
Have fun you alllll–
Hugs love, Di and miss gracie
Hmmm. That is a healthy list, but mine wont be much different once I finish it (that’s if I manage to finish it.) I think that is a good goal to work towards, to get to one tub by the end of the year. Enjoy your new toy.
nice thread catchers……….
