And a bit of quilting…

In the middle of house sitting I had to finish one more customer quilt before summer holidays… This one was for a dear friend Mari, who made it for her sister. She is off to Spain to meet her Mum and sister (who is coming from Venezuela) and I got to quilt both the one for her mum, and now her sis.
Of course I had to find Emmie G first… I forgot to take a photo, but she was stuck under heaps and heaps of… yeah, stuff and boxes. So all of that went on the boys’ beds and I got it cleared enough to do the quilt.
It is a pretty tight squeeze fitting Emmie G in the room. You can see some bookshelves there – that is a divider wall and Matt’s bed is behind it 🙂 He doesn’t have a lot of space, but he doesn’t spend much time in his room anyway.
I usually do edge to edge/all over quilting for my customers, but the quilt really lent itself to custom, and since Mari is a very good friend, I decided to give it a go. I do like how it turned out… but there were a few oopsies…. thankfully Mari loves me (Don’t you?!!) 🙂
Now that my little shop is shut I am looking forward to spending more time on the Gammill, trying to do more custom quilting on my own quilts before I do them for others. It is quite a learning curve, but I do enjoy it. Here’s to a summer of quilting!!!
Oh, before I forget, here is a blog post about Mari 🙂
enjoy quilting your summer away,,,,,,,,,,
Sounds a good way to spend your spare time over summer.
Sure Mari will love it!
It looks great–I am sure her see will be happy happy!! Matt is such a good sport!
