Thanks to Sunny, I found this new Quiltalong 🙂 And since today some ladies and I were getting together for a Christmas in July stitching day, I thought it was perfect to join in on!
Hazel said the weather at her place was hot…. well, it is here too 🙂 It is 45C and the doors and windows are shut tightly, and aircons blowing away merrily! I walked from this little house to the quilt room to meet the ladies this morning at 9.30am and it was already 39C, so I was glad the walk is only a few minutes! The temperature in the quilt room? With two big A/Cs – just right 🙂
I managed to finish my LAST block for the Christmas Jelly Roll Quilt this morning. There are 12 blocks, but I decided to use 9 to make a throw quilt, and the other three for cushion covers. After lots of fussing, we came up with this layout:
I am going to put sashing in between, and then perhaps a white border… and a scrappy one… and… well, let’s see!
Mari brought some Christmas UFO’s to work on:
Aren’t the gingerbread people oh soooo cute?!!
Sally worked on this table runner that will have some cute kitties on it:
Sally was the sweet friend who was stitching with Yvonne and I last Wednesday. She started a stitchery and brought it today all done:
Such a gorgeous pattern!
Yvonne was steadily working on her Dear Jane blocks, and Julie on a gorgeous quilt that I get to quilt for her! After sewing all morning, we all had lunch together, lovely day….
Today is the last day of my holiday/house/cat sitting… I have cleaned the house, packed my stuff, and am just waiting for DH to pick me up. Back to the real world….!
What delicious looking projects. I love your Christmas blocks and the fabric. Your group has some nice things to keep you busy. Thank you for joining in with us.
Have fun with the gals at the club and the virtual gals! We all love Christmas! Love your jelly roll quilt…a perfect Christmas qult! So nice to see what your friends are making…a wonderful variety of terrific projects!
Hello, Joy and welcome to the Christmas QAL! Thank you for linking up. 🙂
Now I must remember not to make a fuss about the weather when you have it SO HOT!!
You ladies have been working on some pretty projects today! Love your Christmas Jelly Roll quilt!
I love all those Christmas projects that everyone is working on!!
I do have a large table set up and a pile of small tops that now need batting and backing–
that is my weekend project–to see how many I can get sandwiched together!!
Have fun–
love, Di and miss gracie
I love your Christmas jelly roll quilt. I have a Christmas jelly roll, to make simple place mats with. Perhaps next month I’ll be organised to sew them.
The gingerbread men are very cute.
Hi Joy, glad to have you visit my blog and by your clock times, I presume you come from Melbourne originally. Love what you are all working on over in your part of the world and will pop into your blog from time to time. Isn’t it funny how you can meet people through this sort of media.
Hi Joy,
You all seemed to have a great time, lots of lovely needle work
being done. Just love Christmas!
Cheers, Anita.
What a good idea to get all your friends to work on Christmas things too. There are some lovely looking projects going on there.
Oh, I like that layout! Can’t wait to see it when you have all the sashings done. Looks like you had a great day!
