It’s been a hectic week! A bit overwhelming too…. with trying to sort the unpacked boxes and find places for things in our small apartment. I haven’t been feeling flash, and then poor hubby was not well either with a migraine (he hasn’t had one for years, he must have caught it from me!). But I have seen some progress… I won’t show you the before photo of my sewing corner, and I won’t show you the rest of the room, lol! But you can see the “in progress” photo!
See those colorful little drawer sets? I saw them when I was doing the grocery shopping the other day and thought – yes, that’s just what I need! So I bought two…. then I worked out two more could fit on the one shelf, so I managed to convince hubby to take me back (remember, I am not allowed to drive here!) and got two more…. he was like, only two more? And he put another two in the trolley… 🙂
It didn’t take me long to fill all those drawers…. trying to decide what went in there, is the hardest. I don’t have much space on the table as you can see, so things that used to sit in a basket like scissors, pens and rotary cutters, needed to go in the drawers. Also stuff I use regularly like thread, needles, punches… I am getting there and it is lovely to be able to find things!!! There are still a fair few odds and ends that need organizing, but hey, a sewing corner is never totally empty, is it?!
I have been working away at my Chilly Penguins bag for this month’s SAL. I am about to cut the fabric pieces out:
I think I am making this one for a friend for Chrissie, so I didn’t put the penguin on, but a bird by Gail Pan – a freebie from many years ago….
So that’s it from me for now… tonight I will draw two names for the Square-agonals Giveaway and post them tomorrow!!!!! So exciting!!!
Looking good!
I want to make one–it is really cute! Add that to my already long list that includes making my shelves look like yours!!!
When you’re finished, will you com organize my room? And bring some of those pretty colored drawers. I cannot begin to imagine a lifestyle where I wouldn’t be allowed to drive. Maybe I would get more sewing done??
You have done a wonderful job with the organizing!!
keep it up!!
love, di and miss gracie
Organizing is so much fun…sometimes! LOL Love the little Gail Pan stitchery! :0)
Seeing your dilemma with a sewing corner makes me so grateful for what I have even though it’s messy at the moment and soon I will be packing when our house is sold, but will be looking for a house with enough room for another studio. Hope you are both feeling better than you have been. Love the little stitchery.
Love those little drawers, they are so handy for storing all the little bits and pieces that we seem to accumulate. It takes a while to reorganise a new space but you will get there in the end 🙂
lovely to see you special sewing space… it’s amazing what you can do when you need to…. did you have to let go of your lovely quilting machine?
