A while ago we decided to go on a breakfast trip to the desert before it got too hot. By breakfast trip I mean – meet at around 7am, drive into the desert, find a tree for shade, have a picnic brecky, drive home again before lunch.
So we got up bright and early one morning (early at least), met three other cars, and headed out into nowhere…
First stop was a camel farm…. now you know that farms look a bit different here than the rest of the world…!
Yes, that is a yellow school bus in the background:
We had to stop to take photos because there were cute baby camels:
This is a mum, with a special pouch around her to stop the baby from drinking, so that she can be milked:
They were very friendly:
After hundreds of photos between the lot of us, we drove on until we found this curious sight:
It is about this big:
We contemplated trying it for brecky, but.. we decided it would be better to find out what it actually is! (Still don’t know, by the way)
We found our bit of shade for our picnic:
Had our brecky, took some photos, relaxed, and flew a kite:
Then we packed up and drove off again, heading back home…..
And now you are wondering why on earth this post is called “Splash”???? You’ll have to come back next Friday to find out what made our breakfast trip more exciting than expected!
Very interesting post. Can’t wait to see next Fridays. The baby camels are certainly cute.
Oh, the suspense is killing me!
Baby camels, weird mushrooms and school buses–oh my!!!
Great post…. looking forward to the splash!!
