Last Friday you saw photos of the first part of our desert breakfast trip, with camels, strange white things growing in the sand, and a shady spot for brecky.
Actually, the spot where we had our breakfast, was a dried up river bed – or what they call a wadi here. A few weeks ago we had a lot of rain and had hoped to see some of the wadis with water in them – but this was all we saw a little way down from where we sat:
The guys had a bit of a play in the mud after brecky…
had to get their tires dirty:
After the guys played, we headed back down the dry wadi:
I got distracted by some sheep:
I have decided it is never good to get distracted by sheep… because as we were crossing the wadi and I was taking photos of sheep, DH spotted some more WATER… and, being the Aussie farm boy that he is, decided he’d better try to drive through it…
He got this far:
Then the next thing you know, this is us:
Just a bit stuck…. and let me tell you, the mud was slippery… there is a photo of DH falling in, but I’ll be nice and won’t post that 🙂
DS and I abandoned ship, but DD stayed in for the ride out:
As you can imagine, we had taken on a bit of water… just a bit….
And then we packed up and went home…. um.. er… no…. And then DH decided since he was ALREADY WET… he’d try again!!!!
I think I can.. I think I can….
Or not….
Thankfully once they winched him out the second time he decided not to try for a third go…. and THEN we drove home… very wet…. and muddy…
We all agreed, however, it made for a very eventful trip, and DH will never live this one down… and now you know why these posts were called Spash!
Way too funny!!!! Ah come on–I want to see the picture of him falling in the water.
Hee hee hee!!!
amm so not showing my hubby the photos LOL…both posts make up for an awesome tourists brochure…& them baby camels look so cute -cheers Vickie
Same thing happened when I went out with friends in a 4×4 a few years ago, what is it about men that they can’t resist water!
How are you? Now that Yvonne has gone I miss our weekly get togethers at Seder, though I am busy with my projects at home…but it was nice to have the company…hope to see you soon. Love your blog, very inspiring!
P.S Is that a photo of Elizabeth at the top of the page?
