Sunday Sewing on a Friday

Today is Friday…. which is our Sunday… and tomorrow is Saturday, which is our Saturday, but it comes after Friday, which is our Sunday… and then Sunday is the first day of the work week which used to be Saturday and which is Monday in most of the world….hmmm… have I confused you?! Don’t worry, I am confused too!
You see, our weekend here for the past hundreds of years has been Thursday-Friday – so Wednesday was virtual Friday, Thursday was virtual Saturday and Friday was virtual Sunday.
That makes sense, right?
Got it?
Took me years to get used to, and just when I was almost used to this different weekend, the King announced a few months ago that on the following weekend we were changing our weekend to Friday-Saturday in line with the rest of the Middle East.
Talk about messing with your mind…. it is like having Friday night, then Sunday, then Saturday….. does that make sense? Oh well… to cut a long story short, today is Friday, which is our Sunday (did I already say this?!) and day of rest, so I did some sewing 🙂
I FINISHED the Jelly Roll Quilt-a-long… just sashed and bordered with white:
I will do a scrappy binding so that the white border is not lost like it is in the picture. Crossed it off my list, yay!
Then I FINISHED a shop sample (cut with the Accuquilt Studio affiliate link), not on my list, but it only needed the last row sewn, I had left it like this as a sample:
I like quick and easy finishes like this…
But now I am starting to get quite a pile of tops needing to be quilted, not just my own, but customer ones too. I think this week I need to get into the Gammill room everyday if I can…
Tomorrow is Saturday… which is the same as your Saturday… and then after that is Sunday… which is the first day of the week and school starts again after a small break… it’s a tad confusing… I hope that your king doesn’t change your weekend on you, because it takes a bit of getting used to…
:-} I get it, but then I lived for awhile. Still it does mess with your mind.
But your looks like it is nicely focused on finishing things, so not to worry! It’s all so pretty!
I still need to do a tumbler one–did I just say that????? OK, I still need to do one but not right now.
Good luck finding the Gammil!!
That was quite a post – still chuckling. I hope you can remember what day it is because I am not sure I do. Sounds like you have a busy time in the gammill room. If we dont hear from you we will know you have been swallowed up by all those quilts.
haha… I hope your Sunday/saturday/monday is fun… love the quilts you have put together.. the tumblers is so effective with the plain in between…

Come and live in my house with a shiftworker who does a different shift everyday and has the oddest days off. At our age we never seem to know what day it is, let alone weekends.
Glad you are getting some things finished, because I’m certainly not.
I’m glad you’ve got the schedule figured out cuz it would certainly take me some time to get it all. 🙂
The quilts are so cute and inspiring!
I think we’d definitely be confused if our King changed the weekend on us… he’s been dead for about 60 years!
Lovely quilt tops, now go and get ’em quilted!
