It’s been pretty cold here the past few weeks. In fact, very cold. Well, for us that is. My lovely wood heater has been on day and night – I do love the heat from a wood heater – don’t you? It was so cold that we actually got snow! Most winters we will get a bit of snow, like the first year we were back from Arabia for the third time:
That was a nice snowfall for us, it even stayed around for half an hour!! Ok, so all of you who get meters of snow will be laughing right now, but for us it was special 🙂
So the last few weeks it snowed not once, but twice! And the thing that wasn’t fair is that I missed them. Both. I was so sad…. The first time it snowed I was taking a nap and DD tried to wake me up but I must have been really out to it…. so I missed it. The second time I was in town, where it wasn’t snowing… sigh.
Thankfully DD took some photos…..
…and the snow hadn’t quite melted the first time after I woke up from my nap so I did get to see it, but not feel it fall… Mitzy was not at all sure what to make of it:
I keep asking DH to take me to live in a country with snow for a while…. instead of the desert… but he doesn’t like snow, so we seem to be stuck with here or the desert. Not fair! Mind you, having said that, it has snowed in Arabia while we were there:
But it wasn’t in the city where we were. So I missed that too. It just ain’t fair…. Oh well… life goes on 🙂 And…. my studio is nearly ready to move into:
We’ve lived in a few places where we got snow as in Batlow, Hobart and Ballarat. Remember my pictures back in 2014? How exciting that the studio is nearly ready. Can’t wait to see. Take care.
Come visit me next year in about January, and I’ll see if I can’t whip up some snow for you. We had about 36 inches this past January. That’s approximately one meter! that’s not common though, so you might only see a few inches.
I for one do not miss the cold–but I did love to watch it snow–but like you I missed it as it always seemed to snow during the night in NY–there is NO snow here in Fl where I am now though!!!
love and laughter, di
lovely pretty snow….. how fun…You will have to make a special trip to a snowy area. I remember my first snow – peope thought I was mad to go out and stand in the blizzard!!
