Relaxing in Dubai

We arrived safe and sound in Dubai, checking in to the hotel at different times because we were arriving from different countries 🙂 We booked a reasonably priced hotel for the week, which has a kitchen so we can do our own cooking and keep the costs down. It really is the way to go, you wouldn’t want to be eating out everyday for almost 10 days!
I checked in first and the lady said she was upgrading us to a better room! I didn’t complain 🙂
The kitchen is nice and big, and even has a washing machine (I refuse to pay hotel prices for them doing my washing, so this is a bonus – won’t have to take dirty washing home!):
View from the window is your typical Dubai look:
It’s a bit fuzzy from the sand/dust on the outside of the window – can you imagine washing the windows on the 39th floor?! Not very practical and the next day it would be covered in dust again!
And the outside temperature you might ask? According to my Android Tablet, a bit warmer than home:
Needless to say we are not spending much time outside 🙂 We have just been relaxing, catching up on news, and I have been doing some hooky and hexies….. more on that in another post.
Meanwhile, back in Australia, it is flooding:
This is a creek crossing near us where a man died in our last big flood – his car was swept into the creek, the current is incredibly strong – you can’t really tell on the photo. There is a bridge under all that water….
Stay safe everyone and hopefully the waters will have receded by the time I get home….
looks like a lovely room and I am sure you will have some fun and some rest while there–
love and laughter, di
enjoy your time there………….
Wishing you and DH a nice relaxing retreat for two!
I thought you were going on the 17th, but glad you arrived safely & are relaxing. I’ve not heard any news from home & hadn’t realised we’d had that much rain. Look forward to the hooky/hexi post &. what else you do in Dubai. Take care
Hope you have a relaxing time, and yes it has been very wet back in Southern Australia.
The kitchen is so nice! I am hoping to visit Dubai someday soon ♥

Sorry we missed each other! We also had a lovely four day break, caught up with friends and enjoyed the little freedoms we miss here. See you soon xxxx
I am slow on catching up on my blog reading obviously. I need one of those relaxing things–what’s it called? A vacation?????? Ugh! Those flood pictures look a lot like what has been going on around here. It rained everyday last week just about and they had to close all the schools because the roads were so bad. I have lost all track of time, so find me when you are back.
