FNSI
I was actually playing hooky on Friday night, working on a yarn UFO that isn’t included in my UFO list, but still needs to get done. The granny squares are actually hot pink, but all of the pics I took have them looking rather odd. I was working on turning this:
…into this:
I finished the last one and now can start sewing them together. I need to lay them out and hope they turn into the size I want. I will probably have to hook some more because I didn’t count, just mindlessly made square after square… isn’t that how it is done?!
Monday Craft
I wandered off to join my craft friends again on Monday morning, this time I took Baby B with me because I wanted to keep working on the Little Patchwork Village.
I did a bunch of chain sewing and ended up with a nice pile of flying geese…
Sue’s Purple Quilt
In between stitches I helped Sue put borders on her second ever quilt (first time she had done borders):
Alice’s favorite colors…. 🙂
We stayed a few hours longer than everyone else so we could get the borders on and spread out… and this was the result:
Isn’t it beautiful? And did I mention this is only Sue’s second quilt?! We are all very proud of her 🙂
Well, there is more to report but this post is long enough, so I’ll save the rest for another day…
I’ve got my final paperwork from Arabia so I need to head over to the post office today to send it to the embassy in Canberra. Getting closer to leaving now, probably another couple of weeks…
What a wonderful bundle of goodies – of course you mindlessly make squares and hopefully end up close to what you need.
I’ve just started Little Patchwork Village…and I do love Sue’s quilt –
Hi Joy,wow i love your crochet squares, they look fantastic and Sue’s quilt is fantastic, she did very well, glad to see you were very busy at craft on Monday.
Just love your crochet…
Love her second every quilt, well done, both of you.
Beautiful crochet….the finished squares are so pretty with the white accent. What a lovely way to start the week with sewing day x
I say UFO’s are UFO’s. Finishing stuff is good!!! I can’t believe that you are getting anything done knowing that you might be heading out in a couple weeks. Good brain!!!!
Crocheted squares are pretty–and like Alice said–if it ain’t finished then it is a ufo–boy do I have a lot of housework that is ufo–one of these days-(maybe)
and I do like chain piecing–it’s all the pressing and squaring up after that is the pain!!! Glad you were able to stay longer and help a newbie quilter learn some more quilting stuff–what pretty quilt, too–
it has been raining ‘cats and dogs’, here alll day so far–heavy at times–we don’t usually get all day rain–just brief storms that last a few minutes here and there–but I have been on the sewing machine all morning–
enjoy the moments,di
I love granny squares, but I hate making them because of all the yarn ends that need to be tucked in. Is there an easy way? Great job on your friend’s quilt. How nice of you to stay and help her.
Great crochet…. I make patchwork squares like that too… just sew away and hope there is plenty to go around! Well done toyour friend Sue – fabulous quilt. All the best with the last bit of paperwork… it will be good knowing it is all done…
