Can’t believe I arrived in Arabia a week ago already! It has gone by pretty quickly, and I think I am just about used to the different time zone now….
Nothing much has changed since I was here last year in April… same dusty streets and hazy sky. Can’t believe I forgot how much dust there is. I’ve been sneezing ever since I got into the apartment, even though DH did clean it before I came 🙂 First thing we went out and bought was a vacuum cleaner, and yes, I have been using it already. The dust just keeps on coming in!
Next was a trip to Ikea to get some “essentials”, like that little step so that I can reach the cupboards in the kitchen:
This kitchen was not made for short people like me. Other essential Ikea items was a bed for DH and I (very useful), and of course these items here:
Two nice big tables to put my computer and Nina on, I’ll take a pic when they are nicely set up… and putting together than little cream trolley which turned into this:
Do you like my tub set in the background? Just enough to pop my sewing stuff in and some other odds and ends.
So we are getting there bit by bit… DH had the basics here already, but he was waiting for me to get here for the rest. We also bought a small kitchen table to eat at, but haven’t found a lounge set yet. That will have to wait.
Our apartment is on the third floor, so can you imagine lugging all that stuff up the stairs?! Nope, no lift… I told hubby we should move somewhere with a lift, but then we have most of what we need up here now so we might as well stay, lol!
So that is what I have been up to in between trying to get into a good sleep pattern. I am going to head off now to say hi to all of you, and try to catch up on replying to comments…. next time will be a sewing update….
Yippee – you finally made it! How interesting to live in two places that are so different. I have wanderlust and love to travel, but I always like to come home, too. I don’t think I could move as often as you do. For one thing, I’m too lazy!!
You arranged furniture and I caught Brian’s cold/flu/yuck!! Not much sewing involved. Next week!!! Glad you are getting organized. I finally got a post in–aren’t you proud of me????
Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!
Glad you are starting to settle into the time zone & have posted. Having an Ikea there never even crossed my mind. Got your email & should be able to get the Kaleidocrosses organised for you this week. Take care.
Hi Joy nice to see you are settling in,lol i never thought of the dust, think that would drive me crazy.
I love your tub set what a great idea, take care my friend and happy sewing.
Hi Joy, so much to get sorted but you are doing well…… you will at least get fit up and down the stairs – I won’t complain about having to cart the groceries down the passage now!!!
Hugz
Pleased to hear you are settling in, you can keep the dust though. Looking forward to your sewing posts.
What a challenge!!! But I’m sure you be sorted in no time.
glad your there and getting settled………….
I left you a nice comment yesterday–but for some reason–once in a while my comments don’t take on your site–must be my spelling!!!!lol
so how what did I say–hummm–really can’t remember–
I did get 2 more of my ‘old’ 2 ufo’s basted on Sunday while I watching those cars go around and around the track–that makes ‘6’ old ufo quilt tops that are now ready for hand quilting–so–I am working on my goals for 2017–
and I have been working on my oldest quilt block project from about 2009 or so–
Be safe and dust free there-!!
enjoy the moments, diane
Glad to see you made it safe and sound Joy!
Happy you arrived safe and sound! Know you are so happy to be with your DH. Sure you will settle in soon enough and be back to sewing on those UFOs. 😉 Really like the roll about cart (need one) and the storage unit!
