Getting Ready to Teach Some Quilting Classes

UFOs were on hold for a day while I sewed up a few samples for classes I will be teaching next week.
Some young ladies are coming to Nora’s next week, and I will be teaching them a few fun and easy projects. We are using this book:
If you ever want to teach girls, this is the book to buy.
It has great projects that are easy, but very effective, all while teaching quilting basics so that if they want to keep going with sewing and quilting, the foundation has been laid. (No I am not being paid to promote this book and I am not an affiliate of Amazon).
On with the show… here are the two samples I have made so far:
On the left is a four patch coaster, which I am sure I have seen tutorials for on blogs, and the same with the little pouch on the right. I think they are really cute and the girls will like them…. so cute in fact that I made another set for myself:
That is the pouch on the right before it has ribbon through it… guess what? I don’t have ribbon here. Need to make yet another trip to the shop… sigh….
In other news, I have been working on a secret project for a class that I will teach next month using these pretty brights:
That’s all for today. Tomorrow will be the Finishing Stitches link-up, so keep an eye out for that and link to any post you have about finished UFOs!
Hope the classes go well. Cute projects!!
Now tell me how big I need those bright squares to be, so I can get ready for this cool project.
And why didn’t I buy stock in Amazon??? I could get rich off of my own bad habits!!!
They are both cute & should keep the young ladies interested. Think I have one of those pouches in the UFO pile that I didn’t have ribbon for, so maybe that could be a finish for next month. I’ve been working out my post for FS & I should be able to do it on Friday. Enjoy the teaching & take care.
love those projects and that looks like a nice book to have someday–
I have not make one of those pouches yet–might have too look into that problem!!!
Have fun and enjoy the moments, diane
