Sounds like the title for a Christmas post doesn’t it? And it is only Easter….
Well, it’s not a seasonal post but it is about time for an update on my #100dayembellishedhexagon challenge…. So far I have remembered to do one every day! For those you are not following me on facebook or Instagram, here is my progress….
Day 1 I decided to get really creative with my machine stitches and as soon as I started I got a mental blank and thought, huh… now which stitch should I use and where should I put it and which color and…. so it turned out like this:
I am hoping by the end of the challenge I will be a bit more creative, lol!
The next days were done at the Dead Sea, so they were little stitcheries:
Sorry I am having trouble with my camera… you get the idea though… I traced the hexies and then I will cut them out and use a quilt as you go method by hand to put them together.
Once I got back home I did a bit of piecing:
Again sorry the photo isn’t very sharp….
Day 12 was yesterday and I came up with this:
I am going to do more of these and turn them into a table topper…. so the pics on fb and insta are going to be rather boring and repetitive for a while!
In other news, I have been madly sewing, and for the first time in my life (really) madly unpicking:
I don’t usually allow myself to unpick… I generally make it work.. but with these blocks I just went completely wrong. I think I was on another planet, because out of 21 blocks I sewed at least 6 wrong. More on that another day if I ever finish the jolly quilt!
In fact, I’d better go work on it now…..
Hope everyone had a lovely Easter,
Still need to get a reminder course from you on the English paper piecing. Now that I have found most of the pile I should do something with it. Your hexies are great! I think I have a book around here for pieced hexies–ha ha ha–like I need to start anything else. Fortunately I have no idea where it might be. OK, off to work I go. Sew for me!!!
You have a good variety of hexies there. Initially I thought they were all for thh same project but it sounds like they might be going into different projects?
Hi Joy ,wow i am loving seeing all your different hexie designs, you do such lovely work my friend.
I love these hexies…One a day might be too much for me – but one a week would still make a good size by the end of the year and so much inspiration here… GOSH – I need a new project NOT!!
your hexies are coming along so well think the pintuck one is my favourite. Hate the unpicking process seem to have to do it more often that I like not sure what I would do if I did not have my unpicking tool
you’ve got soem lovely hexagons going on there…..
Hugz
what size are your hexagons that you are embellishing?? lovely by the way
