The doggies and I have been making great progress at the start of my self declared “UFO Busting Month”! Of course the doggies don’t look really productive, do they…
But really, little P, the one in the middle below, gets very busy licking the air…. possibly trying to get the dust out of it and purify it for me??
Even when he sits on my lap for cuddles, his head goes right back and he licks for about 5 minutes before he decides he’s done his job and it is time to rest….. of course it could be that he is trying to lick the top of his nose, but either way, it keeps him occupied 🙂 He’s such a cutie… they all are.. I am enjoying!
I, in the meantime, have dumped UFOs all over my friend’s kitchen bench…
Such a useful bench it is too….
I made up a UFO plan of attack…
Although my goal for this month is to “only” try to finish 20 UFOs (5 a week), I wrote down 43 on my list so far…
Lots more lines to add more 🙂
I made the above worksheets and I’ll put them up for free when I finish testing and editing them.
I wasn’t just making lists (which is something I am very good at, and then forget to actually do what is on my list 🙂 ), but I also got stuck into sewing and managed to get 6 UFOs done today!
I started with two sets of potholders… I had crocheted them and then decided they were too “holey” so I should put fabric on them somehow… four or five years later and they are finally done.
With the first ones I used Insulbright, and cut them pretty much the same size as the crochet squares:
I’m sort of ok with how they turned out… they were a bit thicker than I would like them to be, so the with the next set I left the Insulbright out and made the fabric square smaller:
I am happier with these – a bit easier to hold and use, and I like the effect of the fabric being smaller than the crochet square.
Then I decided to tackle these little wallets…
They were all cut out and ready to sew together…
This was from a “hot potato” that I won from got back in 2010! It was a pattern that I got to keep for a month and make as many as I liked, then pass the pattern on to one of my blog commentors. Well, I made and finished at least four when it arrived, but it’s taken me 7 years to finish these four off!!
So, a good start to the month, don’t you think? Now, since I’ve finished 6 on the second day of the month, does that mean I can take a week off???!
I think for now it is bedtime for doggies and quilters… I’ll catch you all later in the week…
OK, well done so far & let’s see what the rest of the month brings as there is an awful lot on that list. The doggies are cute, but 4 of them, what a handful.
Have fun finishing & take care.
Go Joy Go! Getting off to such a great start should help to keep you motivated to keep going!!!! 20 finishes should be a piece of cake.
I had hoped to finish some blocks I did last year in a bom program on here–but then I remembered that my girl friend in NY has a birthday end of Aug and I always knit her a pair of socks–so yesterday I did go hunting for patterns , then found the needles and yarn–and today I got them started!!! wonder if I will still ‘fit’ in working on the Bee quilt top????
enjoy the moments, di
Yes, please take a day off!! You’re making me feel bad. I do finally have a day off from work tomorrow, so I plan to get some things accomplished. Fingers crossed that it is a productive day. I am surprised that you get anything done with all the cute puppy-ness. Have fun!

Well done on a greaet start on your UFOs – hope it’s continuing to be productive for you! Adding the fabric was a good solution to the potholders 🙂
