Welcome to Day 9 of How to Earn $ From Sewing and Quilting! Today we are going to start talking about teaching others to sew and quilt!
Do you ever wonder about those “famous” teachers and how they started teaching? They were students once themselves 😊 But somehow they moved from learning to teaching… how did they do this? What motivated them? What gave them the confidence to teach others?
This week we’ll be looking at some these questions and the practical things related to teaching others to sew and quilt.
Do you have to be “famous” or “perfect” to teach others?
Where do you hold the classes?
What do you actually teach?
What skills and supplies do you need to be a teacher?
This week I am hoping for you all to chime in with some opinions and ideas! We have all been to classes, even if we don’t all teach them. I’d love to know your experiences with teachers. What made the great classes stand out? Were you ever disappointed in a class you went to and why?
I’m going to tell you my story and how I started teaching others. I’ll give you hints and tips on what you need to bring to classes, how to prepare, and lots more!
Oh, and the lovely lady who first taught me how to quilt has agreed to answer some questions and be featured on my blog! So be on the lookout for that post – plus pictures of the beautiful quilts she makes!
Before we start the series, however, are there any questions that you would like me to answer this week? Please write them in the comment section or email me and I will do my best to answer them!
