Welcome to Day 30 of How to Earn $ From Sewing and Quilting! Today is the second last day of the month and I have run out of time to write about everything I wanted to!! At least I didn’t run out of topics… haha! Today I want to touch briefly on Sewing Items to Sell – using your sewing and quilting skills to earn money.
This was the first way I started to earn money from my sewing and quilting hobby. I can’t count the amount of craft fairs and markets I have been to, selling my wares! It’s also something I really enjoy… I love setting up the table and displaying my finished items, and I love meeting people at the markets. I am also one who loves to spend all my hard earned money at other people’s stalls, but oh well… !!!
There is so much to talk about with this arm of a sewing and quilting business, that it is going to be the topic of one of my soon to be released ebooks, AND a free mini course. I’d like to tell you a bit about the free course in this post because it is going to launch next month… and did I mention, it will be free?!
I love taking online courses, in fact I am not only an ebook junkie, but an ecourse junkie! There are so many free ecourses out there that have been so useful to me, like the one I mentioned from Kari Schell from On Point Quilter. If you join her facebook group, you may be still able to sign up for it… I am not sure if it was a “once off” or an “always on offer” free EQ7 course.
Anyway, back to my free mini course… it is nearly ready… 🙂
It will be all about…
- how to start up your business with as little setup cost as possible
- which handmade items sell best
- how to price your handmade items
- tips on selling specifically at markets and craft fairs
- setting up your work area
- finding time in your already busy schedule to sew items to sell
- not letting some of the common myths about selling handmade items get you down….
- And so much more!
Basically, it will be a little series like I have done on the other arms of a sewing and quilting business this past month, but via email, not on my blog… I think it is time my blog went back to “normal” – sharing my sewing projects and hopefully some tutorials!
If you are interested in signing up for this ecourse, then keep an eye on my blog next month because I’ll be announcing when it launches!
I’ll be back tomorrow to wrap up our How to Earn $ From Sewing and Quilting series…
PS Please remember I am answering your comments in the comment section below and not via email like I usually do. Sorry for the hassle, but I am hoping this month we can share ideas!
PPS The main page of this series is here along with links to each post for this series.
PPPS You can download the FREE EBOOK of last year’s series, 31 Days of Quilting UFOs HERE!
You have done so well with this series Joy…. it’s hard to believe it is a whole month….

It has gone by quickly… the last week was the hardest though! Glad I did it, but also glad it is over! xx
