All is well here in Arabia, two days after the missile scare, and it is time for another post about what happened in October…

So, last month was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and despite October being a busy month for me travelling, and Nora at the shop, we managed to organize a sit and sew to make heart pillows for post-mastectomy patients here in Arabia.

We had a lovely group of ladies turn up… dressed in pink as much as possible, and you should have heard the sewing machines going non stop! There was also pink food, which of course I forgot to take a picture of!! We were too busy trying to beat the record of making 60 in one session….

You see, when Nora had the shop in another town, she had a day of making these pillows too.. and from 9.30 am till 2.30 the ladies managed to finish 60 pillows.

We decided we’d better make more 🙂

As the hours passed they started piling up….

 

and despite many ladies having to leave before 1pm… we managed to make…….

Now they need to be delivered to a few of the local hospitals and we hope they will be useful…

The pattern we used was a free one we found here, and very quick and easy to make.

Thank you to all the ladies who came to sew, iron and stuff with us! It was a fun morning and a great cause to support…

I wonder how many we will make next year….?!
