It’s been a quiet week for me so far… I’ve been a bit under the weather having picked up a mild version of some bugs that are going around… but it has given me a chance to catch up on some things at home.
Most of my sewing time seems to be taken up by preparing for classes.. on the weekend I will be doing a workshop for our local guild on decorated shopping bags. I know I am a bit behind the times, but you know those Woollies bags that have been floating around for more than a year with a yoyo tree on them?
Yep, them…. I thought the ladies here would love them so I brought back a bunch of bags and made the one above as a sample.
The other bag was one I got in Holland from one of the most well known grocery stores, Albert Hein. I brought a dozen of them back and used my scraps to decorate one….
Amazing what you can do with scraps, right?
Hopefully the ladies will enjoy the workshop…
Talking about scraps, I bought these the other day…. (5 SR is about $1.75)
and added them to my every expanding strings collection, and also to my little boxes of precut squares:
As you can see, I have been getting organized…
Slowly but surely I will get there, right?
At the end of next week, however, DH and I will be hopping on a plane to Oz for our eldest DS’s graduation… so I’ll be packing again…. Hmm… come to think of it, my suitcase is still partly packed.. how handy is that?
Linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts and NTT
While I’m not jet setting around the world I feel likwe my suitcase is always 1/2 packed….. .
Hi Joy ,what a great idea with the bags the ladies will love decorating them.

Decorating the bags looks like a fun idea and workshop! Good on you having the foresight to collect a pile of them for teaching 🙂 Hope you get over your bugs quickly – so that you can enjoy your trip back to see your DS!
