I’m so happy I got to be at two of the Monday Craft mornings, especially the Christmas Breakup one yesterday!
It was so good to catch up with everyone, including Shez.. and her leg:
Shez is doing really well and was looking great I thought.. considering what she has gone through the past months.. she also posted about craft yesterday so you can check out her pics – a few of them different from mine, including some pics of me 🙂
Now I am not kidding you.. Shez kept us in stitches the whole time….. while she was “working” on this:
At the end of the morning she had a few stitches done…
But she really did keep us entertained which is the most important thing.. not telling you what we talked, er, laughed about… but you know how it is when a group of ladies come together 🙂 Boy I’m going to miss her!
I actually managed to grab a UFO on the way out of the house, and did a little bit of joining of these granny squares:
There was lots of food of course…
Shez brought some yummy low carb snacks:
As I found out last week, some people are still knitting socks.. but there is a new craze going on in the group… English Paper Piecing:
Some of the ladies are using their own templates, some bought these:
Sue was busy gluing the fabric to the paper templates:
and Sharon, who started this craze, has done this so far:
Aren’t they pretty? I did ask what the block was called, but no one knew.. they are just all madly making them!
Of course I grabbed some templates so that I could START SOMETHING NEW… ahem… don’t you think that was a good idea?
Does anyone know if the block above has a name?
Next time I’ll tell you about another lovely long term project that one of the ladies is doing…
Hi Joy it sure was a fun day and i am going to miss you my friend,it just seems like you got here and now you are going again.
I love the crochet rug that you were working on the colours were gorgeous, you are very clever my friend.
I loved the hexie blocks that the girls were working on,think i might have to start this one too, lol,Merry Xmas my friend and safe travels, take care little buddy xx
I’m not looking!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! They are really cute though! Still need to finish the ones that I have in a bag somewhere. It looks like the grouup has grown some. Very cool! I know you will miss it, but I also know that it won’t be long before you find all the people in Dubai who craft!!
I also think my phrase for 2018 is going to be “Think ahead to retirement!!”
Looks like a fun time! I’m sure Shez is a barrel of laughs. Question – I have a few hexie flowers from a swap, and the people glued the fabric to the paper. How the heck do you get the paper out? I just pin mine so it’s easy to pull out. The glued ones, not so much. What is the secret?
Oh I love my paper piecing…….. Highly addictive esp if fussy cutting some parts……. Have fun and travel safe soon…..
It was lovely to see you on Shez’s blog. That EPP is just called Quatro. I’ve been resisting getting it but i guess i’ll cave as i really do like that quilt. 🙂 :). Merry Christmas. Safe travels Joy. Hugs,xx
Hi Joy, lovely to have got to see everyone….. happy EPP’ing… I am working hard on avoiding that addiction…
