I can’t believe it, but I actually manged to join in on FNSI!!! I can’t remember the last time I did.. because I keep forgetting… but thanks to Narelle’s post yesterday I remembered! Thanks Narelle!
So I didn’t do much, but I did something…. and that is the main thing, right?
Since I am moving in less than two weeks, I decided to start something new – hahahahahaha (hysterical laughter):
You see one of my students chose that lovely birdie fabric as her border for her star… and then Dhell gave me a piece of scrap fabric for a demonstration that perfectly matched it… so I thought I’d make up a bunch of nine patches…
Chain sewing made it quick.. but I still have lots more I want to make. The method of making nine patches I have will make two quilts, I’ll tell you more about that one day.
Then I was a good girl and finally got the binding on my butterfly quilt:
I used a super easy method I learned from Nora that I need to share with you one day too… There are just not enough hours in my day.
But now I have something to hand stitch in the evenings, so that is good…
Thanks for hosting FNSI, Wendy! Go here to see who else joined in…
Pretty blocks…
There’s never enough hours in a day!!! Always good to have a hand sewing project on the go.
Hi Joy beautiful blocks, love those cute birds xx
None of us have enough time to do it all – but I look forward to any tips you pass on!
Love the birdie fabric! I always try to have handwork prepped for evening television watching.
You actually got quite a bit done. Love those blocks. Seems like I work every other Friday night lately. I pretend people are sewing with me on Thursday afternoon!!
I love that birdie fabric–I love birds–
and it is good to have hand work to do evenings–
so you are on a roll–
enjoy, di
Well done in joining in FNSI. I remember you doing it a while back. Love the nine patch fabrics. Take care.
lovely fabric… I am also sewing 9 patches… and I also start new projects when things get crazy!!! haha….. I think we may be twins…. now go pack a box….. haha
Hugz
This would make a really nice lite spring quilt.
The birdie fabric is super cute and goes perfectly with the other one that you acquired! I think it is totally reasonable to start a new project right before you move and when you are supposed to have all your sewing equipment packed away. Well at least all the older unfinished projects. 🙂
I like your spirit – moving day is rapidly approaching and you still find time to sew! Love your 9-patches – that fabric is gorgeous! Happy moving 🙂
I thought you said you didn’t do much … looks like a good night xx
Lovely blocks and I love the sweet birdie fabric…..and binding too! Well done!
