… and so is the quilt! I’m so excited… it’s been two years since I bought this Harvest Spice collection, and I’ve finally managed to get the sample finished and all the fabric cut and ready to sell…!
Now let me say I have sold some of the fabric as fat quarters and other precuts…. but it was meant to go into kits. I spent the past two mornings at the Shop finishing up measuring, cutting and packaging…
I had a few oopsies… 🙂 Thankfully it is my fabric and I didn’t get into trouble, haha! What can I say, I have plenty of leftovers 🙂
In the end I managed to kit up 9 full kits including backing, 3 kits without backing, and 2 kits to give away – one is for Nora and the other is for Alice.
Here they are on display in the shop…
Nora is going to run it as a block of the week…. it is actually a great skill builder. The first blocks are easy, then they get harder bit by bit. There were some new techniques that I hadn’t tried before.
The quilt will stay here in Arabia until all the kits are sold and the classes are finished…
… and then Nora will bring it to me… I was worried I might not get it back (lol) but since she is making her own, I think I am safe 🙂
In the end, the quilt was a joint effort. I made all the blocks and put them together.. then Dhell put the borders on and handed it to Nora to get quilted… Then it was back to Dhell for the binding…
Here are some closeups of the blocks and quilting…
Can’t say the colors have come out perfectly on the photos.. took them with my ipad which is at least better than my phone camera…
I really do love how it turned out though.
While I was finishing up the kits, Nora was preparing kits for a workshop she is holding next week:
More about that next week…
I didn’t say goodbye to anyone, because I am hoping I’ll be back to visit one day.. and I know a few of the ladies will be coming to visit me soon…
Today the packers came, and packed my Go!-ing away present from Nora (amongst other things!).. yes, a Go! Cutter (affiliate link)!
Can’t wait for it to arrive so I can play!! More on that another day too 🙂
Well that’s it for now folks… got to pack the last things in our suitcases and catch a flight tomorrow…
PS I’m linking up to Finish it Friday & Whoop Whoop!
