Welcome to Finishing Stitches for February!
While February seemed to mostly go slow for me, the last few days have disappeared somehow! All of a sudden it is the 27th and in three more sleeps I’ll be heading off to the Netherlands for three weeks…. don’t think I will get any UFOs done there!
This month, of course, I had some very legit excuses for not doing much for Finishing Stitches… Yesterday, however, I finished this table runner:
It was made from orphan blocks… actually, the quilt top is a flimsy, so another UFO!
I did free motion on it, using these finger grips for the first time…
It was also the first time I had done free motion on Nina, and I think something was wrong with me or her or both. The tension wasn’t quite right, but I finished it anyway…
It is now happily sitting on this chest of drawers in the living room, covering up some stains 🙂
I started quilting the other table runner too…
It’s also made up of orphan blocks made with the “Anita’s Arrowhead” block. If you haven’t tried this block, you should, it is fun and easy.
So that was my progress….
Your turn! Have you worked on any of your UFOs this month?
Share your link below… Please link to a POST (or posts), not to your website, so that we can see the projects that you have been working on. If you have already posted about what you have worked on this month, then link to that post (or posts). If you haven’t written about it yet, then write a new post and link to that one. Does that make sense?! I hope so! If not, just ask! Feel free to add more than one link if you have more than one post.
PS * For motivation and encouragement, in a post at the beginning of the month, I’d like to feature some of your progress, so by linking up with this challenge you are giving me permission to share your pictures in my post and on social media- of course I will be linking to you and giving you full credit! *
I can’t believe you are going to be off on another trip—I am gonna nick name you the ‘the airplane/roadrunner’ how you get anything done besides packing and unpacking is beyond me!!! I pray you have a safe travels my friend!

Lovely tablerunner. Hugs, xx
Enjoy your time away, again! Think I need to do little projects so that I can finish them! Everything I have here to work on is complicated, so haven’t even looked at it. Maybe later in the year, after I have finished the mystery cases???
Hi Joy oh i love your new table runner it looks great sitting on the cupboard, have a wonderful time in Holland my friend xx
Hi Joy, nah! No ufo’s finished this year, I have been busy helping Marion (knitting wigs for Golly’s) and making journals from my stash of scrapbooking supplies. That’s the one downside of having a Kaisercraft store in Delacombe! They have a sale on 2moro, I wonder if I’ll go????
Cool runner. It does amaze me that you get anything finished.
I should have no excuses. I finished lot of blocks! And bought lots of fabric.
This month went too fast!
Runner looks lovely atop your dresser 😊
I’m having trouble linking 🤔 http://pinsandwhiskers.blogspot.com.au/2018/02/wet-day-ufo-day.html
Have a safe flight and a good trip Joy! Sorry, one of these days I’ll get organised enough to join in with the link up :-)! PS Your finished runner is very nice!
Thanks Joy, I love your pretty fresh tablerunner… it looks perfect for the Netherlands????
