Gotham Quilts was a really fun quilt shop to visit… it was near the Empire State Building – if I had known that I’d have gone earlier… but probably not a good idea to go there twice.. I spent enough on one trip 🙂
When we walked in we were greeted by these lovely ladies:
Yes!! Berninas!! If they were mine, they would all have names…
No I didn’t buy one…
There was a lovely quilt hanging on the wall above them…
And a kit… but I resisted that one…
Lots of lovely odds and ends…
I resisted buying any of that as well.. see how much I left behind??!
And I left all this behind too…
They had some lovely precuts, fat quarters and kits…
I thought this one was soooo cute…
Nope, didn’t buy that either…
There were lots of kits available actually… so many to choose from…
But then I saw this…..
“My Small World” by Jen Kingwell…..
No hesitation, that was coming home with me!!!
In fact I bought two… who do you think the second one is for?
Ok, so what else did I go home with? Well, this fabric was sitting on the counter when I got there, so I decided I NEED some more of it.. (same as what I got for dog sitting)…
This was also on the counter… and I decided I NEEDED some of it too…
Isn’t it cool? Don’t know what I will use it for, but I couldn’t leave it behind…
Then I got this jelly roll and fat quarter packs…
And that’s it!
If I lived in New York I’d be visiting this shop way too often! The ladies working there were very friendly and we spent half the time chatting…
So, I’m pretty happy with my goodies…. I wonder what else I’ll find when Alice and I go shopping…… 🙂
Nice! I’m sure you bought that extra kit for ME?? I LOVE the quilt hanging behind the Berninas. Once you’re finished with Alice, you’ll have to ship home an extra box. Glad you’re having such fun.
Thanks for taking us on a tour of NYC–(even though I had lived in the state of NY most of my life–I have never been to NYC–and yesterday I learned about the memorial parks for the twin towers–did not realize what they had make there–so thanks for sharing that–
and that quilt shop is sooo delightful–and I love the goodies you bought there and I bet I know show will be gifted with that 2nd kit!!

you sure did damage to the bank account here but then it is heaps cheaper in the USA and most importantly you will never be back there to “get it next time”
Looks like good buying to me, wonder what I will find to bring home when I go? Glad you found some quilt shops. Good job, keeping us up to date with blog posts.
