I was thinking… yes, sometimes I do that… that since the beginning of the year I have been in 6 countries….
I realized this in the middle of the night, when I couldn’t sleep because I had no clue which time zone I was in….
I must admit, I was rather grumpy.
Don’t get me wrong… I know I am extremely blessed to be able to see the world, and visit so many beautiful places… but sometimes it all gets a bit much….
The jet lag from the US to here (Dubai, in case you can’t keep track of where I am either) has been the worst I have experienced for a while, not sure why… and so in my mind I grumbled… and thought, I should get DD to draw a grumbly picture of me being jet lagged and grumpy… just to make me look at the bright side of travelling… because sometimes a cartoon helps make fun out of a grumpity situation…
I then had an even more brilliant idea (seems I get brilliant ideas in the middle of the night when I am jet lagged) – DD has a lovely friend who draws the cutest comics, and I thought she might draw me one…. so I asked her and she did!
Ana actually drew me a little less grumpy than I was feeling that night 🙂
Isn’t it a cute drawing? (Go check her out on Instagram!)
It almost makes me feel like travelling again now!
What about you? Do you love travelling? Or are you like me – do you enjoy the destination more than the actual travel?
PS Sudden thought – it would make a good stitchery/applique for a travel bag…… do you think?
PPS Another thought – no wonder I haven’t finished any UFOs….
Cartoon Is cute as are the cartoons on ‘lovely friends’ Instagram. Whew! I feel tired for you, jet lag can certainly put the body clock in a spin. Xx
I love travelling, but I always love coming back home again, too! We’re leaving tomorrow for a few short days in the Smoky Mountains, searching for wildflowers and waterfalls. We did a couple of ‘big’ trips last year, and I’m looking forward to some shorter trips this year. You’re so adorable lin your cartoon!
That is one cute cartoon! I love travelling, although it is tiring, I must admit.
love the cartoon…. yes, travelling sounds very glamorous – it probably is in business class mind you! It is great to see different places, but there is no doubt the sleep gets interrupted. I hope you can find a few quiet days to reset the body clock again…
Hugz
LOL I enjoy the destination rather than the travel! Nancy
My deepest sympathies over the jet lag! I hate travelling, but I treasure the experiences in between the flights. I am presuming from this post that the worst of the grumps are now lifting. xx
You don’t look very grumpty in the cartoon. It is very cute. I say that I want to start traveling again, and then I start yawning. Not a good start!!
Love the cartoon. Hope you are feeling better now. Hugs,xx
I’m not a lover of flying so the most travelling we do in the caravan around Aussie… that way I can sleep in a comfy bed and no time zones to worry about.
Lovely cartoon and yes would be a great stitchery…
I know what you mean about adding UFO. Hahaha!
The destination is usually the best part, but sometimes the travel reveals a surprise, that you wouldn’t have had, if it wasn’t for the journey. You’ll be travelling again before you know it. Take care.
Love the cartoon ;)) I love as much traveling than the destination, specially because I use to travel with my sailboat. The process is so great and pleasant, the destination is secondary 😉 Not compleetly true of course, and we (my husband and I) had plenty of time to think about the new destination before actually arriving (some sailing time were about 3 or 4 weeks)… so fun too!
It was a pleasure to turn you into a cartoon, Joy! I’m so happy you like it! 🙂
