After such a productive week last week, I came to a grinding halt…. I’ve had gastro for the past 5 days… and I won’t go into much more detail than that… 🙂
Not a great start to my MerMay Stitchalong!! But I have managed to do a little bit…
For those of you not on social media, here is a quick update…
I got my threads and fabric chosen:
I’ll be using one of my new fat quarter packs from the US to finish the stitcheries off.
Then I got her traced and ready to go:
Yes, I use Frixion pens to trace my stitchery designs.
And made a bit of a start… and a bit of a knot 🙂
Knots in the middle of the thread like that are so annoying. I am going to have to cut it off I think…
While I didn’t get a lot of stitching done, I did make the most of being sick to relax on the couch and tackle these:
I’m getting there.. need to go buy some more of the white plastic things though – I will need to wait until I am well again for that. I’ll take a progress pic in the light tomorrow… it’s too late now.
In the meantime Lola has finished her bunny!!!!!
Isn’t it cute? Of course we knew she’d be done first… maybe tomorrow I’ll be feeling up to working on mine…. if you want to make it, the free pattern is here.
Well, I am going to have an early night. If you still want to join in on MerMay and get your free mermaid stitcheries, head over to this post to sign up 🙂
PS I’m linking up to Finish it Friday, & Whoop Whoop!
Hope you’re feeling better soon! Not fun at all. I haven’t had to start my mermaid yet, but hope to at least get it traced over the weekend.
Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell Joy…I hope you are on the mend now. The Mermaids are very cute…your daughter is so talented….while I’ve signed up for MerMay I cant say when I’ll be stitching them. There are wee girls in our family so I’m sure it will happen at some stage! Well done to Lola on finishing her rabbit – perfect for welcoming the spring in!
So sorry your are not well. Do you have celiac disease? I have an appointment with the gastroenterologist in late June as my test showed celiac level mildly raised. I have been trying to eat gluten free for some time now! Love Lola’s rabbit. You still accomplish things even when sick! Nancy
That is a serious stash of embroidery yarn. I thought I had a lot but now I’ve seen yours….
I do hope you are feeling better soon. Quiet stitching time, plenty of rest and keep drinking fluids. 5 days is a long time with gastro.
Xx
Don’t worry–I have a big stash of embroidery threads too–!!! But I leave mine in the hanks now–it seems to work better for me–we all have to learn and discover what works best for each of us!! Love the start to your Mermaid–I worked on mine today too–think it will be in tonights post!!
Lolas rabbit came out cute–

no fun being sick – hope you are over it all now…Love the little mermaid.
Hope you are recovering, and have made some progress with the mermaid, and all of those threads. See you soon.
Hope you’re feeling a lot better by now. The stitchery is coming along a treat, & I bought some of those thread holders just after Xmas & haven’t got round to winding any more threads, as we’ve been so busy. Take care.
I hope you’re feeling better! Thanks for including the link to my Patchwork Peter Rabbit. Lola’s version is adorable and I love the addition of “Spring”.
Cute spring quilt! Hope you are feeling better!
I hope you’re feeling much better now. The mermaids are just so cute. I’ve got them saved and hope to have time to work on one or more soon.
Thanks so much for linking up to this month’s Stitchery Link Party! Aloha hugs!
