Nina and I are home again in our little sewing corner in our little apartment… Nina is back on the desk but I haven’t turned her on yet… I have unpacked all my sewing stuff, but it’s all on the ironing board waiting to go where it belongs…. so what have I been doing?
Housework.
Sadly we can’t sew all day and night, can we? There was washing to be done and other such wonderful things when we got home… but hopefully I’ll get a chance to do some sewing over the next few days.
In the meantime I do have a finish to show you!
This cheerful bag was a UFO:
All done and ready to go up for sale at my next market… whenever that will be… I have a second one with the same fabric that I am half way done with, so I will try to work on it this weekend.
I made three more hearts:
I think my first ones were neater than these… oh well!
And yesterday was the first day of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting… that means that many restaurants are closed during the day and not many people are seen out in public eating or drinking during the day.
Hubby got this cute basket from the customer he was at last week, filled with dates:
I told him I’d have the basket….. he can have the dates 🙂
Mermaid stitching for me has slowed down as I need to print the next pattern out and trace it! Couldn’t do that when I was away on my little retreat 🙂
So, over the next few days I need to keep working on my UFO bags, catch up with pink blocks, and Mermaids…………………
Should be manageable, don’t you think?!
PS I’m linking up to Finish it Friday, Happy to be Scrappy & Whoop Whoop!
Pretty hearts and I love the bag. I’m still waiting for the housework fairies to arrive and clean my house……
Ahhh, the realities of being home after a trip! You had a great time; the bag is so cute-very nice to have it finished! The basket is unique-I love baskets, too!
I plan on starting the mermaids soon-daughter and granddaughter here in a few days and we will stitch together!
Love your bag and the basket of dates. Nina is probably enjoying a little holiday since she got home. You are doing a great job finishing off your UFO’s. Xx
I think Nina is all rested now and ready to get warmed up and let you create beautiful things with her this week end–though–those mermaids are hand work–not Nina work!!! I got the second one started with the embroidery work and have the 3rd one traced and colored–so we are working away here too!!
enjoy, di
Love the bag & the hearts look lovely. Hugs,xx
I think that you are doing pretty well with all of your zipping around the world.
I definitely think it is doable.
And I would do the same with the cool basket–dates are not my favorite food. Well, unless they are buried in sticky date pudding!!!
I love your beautiful bag. Even with housework you are still productive. I was just thinking today I need to schedule some sewing time and make a couple birthday cards as I have been trying to get the courtyard gardening done. Enjoy your week-end! Nancy
Hi Joy oh the bag is gorgeous that will be snapped up at your next market for sure. Yes its a buggar when housework interferes with our sewing time, lol. I love your hearts i think they are very neat, well done on all your beautiful work my friend xx
Love the happy fabrics in your newly finished bag!
Your finished bag is gorgeous Joy – well done on the finish! The hearts look lovely too. Hope you’ve got the housework out of the way and you’re onto some sewing again 🙂
