Well, May just went by far too quickly if you ask me. But then I guess time seems to fly by quicker these days. I wonder if it because we have so much to fit into our lives?
I finished May off with another Mermaid… which makes it a total of 3 that I managed to stitch up! One short of my goal of doing 4 🙂 Oh well, I’ll work on them in June… here are the three little mergirls all in a row:
Now remind me not to join any challenges this month. OK? I need to work on UFOs.. or something like that!
What will this month hold?
Well, to start with there is another fun blog hop coming up:
Hosted by the lovely Carla from Creatin’ in the Sticks, my turn is going to be on the 11th of June… so keep an eye out for that!
And at the end of the month I’ll be going to Judy’s for another fun Mystery Quilt Retreat!!! Oh, I can’t wait!!!
Last year this is what I made:
Hubby has been making the most of this lovely quilt designed by Judy, snuggling up in it while he’s watching the footy…. yes, it is 41C OUTSIDE but inside the a/c is working nicely and blowing straight on him… poor fellow, I may need to knit him a nose warmer – he is complaining that his nose is getting cold.
Now I know what you are thinking…. change the temperature of the AC!! Well, we have been battling with it. The thermostat doesn’t seem to do anything. We have had 7 people in to look at it and when they leave they all say it has been fixed 🙂 Luckily maintenance is included in our contract and we haven’t had to pay them! Anyway, let’s see what happens in the next few days. In the meantime DH has a beanie he can wear, a sweater and a quilt to snuggle under:
Back to what I am hoping to do in June… not only did I make that quilt above at the retreat, I STARTED another one….
That is how much I got done… and that is where it has stayed… now according to my own UFO definition, “a project that I haven’t worked on for a very long time”, I guess it has become a UFO… ooops!!
Why? Well, other than starting 100 other things since I started it, I also made a mistake and ran out of some of that purple fabric that make up the triangles… and then I sent a block with a friend to a quilt shop to see if she could match it… and she lost the block…….. talk about dramas with that quilt! (I also spilled tea on it!) Maybe I should pop it in the suitcase and take it back to Oz with me this month and back to Judy’s 🙂 🙂 She might still have some of that fabric!
Well, those are a few of my plans for June.. I am sure there will be other things happening and probably some new things I will want to start (like a few boms that are out there…) And OH! I forgot to make the pink blocks last month! Oh dear. Wonder what the color will be this month….
I’d better go and make myself a list or two… here’s to a very productive month of June!
PS I’m linking up to Finish it Friday, & Whoop Whoop!
Nice to look at what is accomplished but even more exciting to see what’s ahead! Nice job on the mermaids! (I managed to get one finished !)
So good you have quilts to keep you warm inside when it’s too hot to go outside!! It sounds like you have a fun month ahead of you 🙂
Loved the quilt you made at Judy’s last year…………..can’t wait to see what you make there this year…………..
hope you are making some birthday cake…………….
almost frosty here this morning…………
Another busy month coming up after your hectic May. Pity I can’t catch up at Judy’s with you, but too much has happened here over the last couple of months too. Must get caught up on so much. Safe travels, take care & see you soon.
That blue and white quilt your husband is using so so beautiful! I am sorry you can’t seem to get your AC working. Sorry too about the drama with your other quilt. Maybe it will all work ou! Your three Mermaids look so pretty! Congratulations on getting so much done. Maybe a list will help me but you have to work on things to cross things off I guess! Enjoy your quilting retreat. I have never been to one. Nancy
Such a cheerful post….. the month of May disappeared very quickly…..

A busy month for you. Very pretty little mergirls.
YEs perhaps you should bring it and I could have some, can’t remember which one I used, looking forward to catching up with you again, and I better get busy cutting more fabric, have 2 retreats with the cases this month, yikes, did I say this month, that means it’s already June!!
Love your blue and white quilt! I could not function without my list(s) to keep me on track. I’ve signed up for too many BOM’s this year, as well as planning to finish a couple of old ones that I had barely started. And then there are the hundred other projects that I start along the way, or are on my list for ‘some day’. LOL!
