Elizabeth and I decided to have a weekend away, just us girls… I hunted around for a nice place to stay … and found this lovely spot overlooking a river:
We’re in a little self contained cabin in a caravan park where we can cook for ourselves and just enjoy the peace and quiet…
Elizabeth has been sketching…
I have been reading a book, doing some stitching (until I lost the needle), and drinking lots of tea…
I wouldn’t recommend the book, by the way.. it really wasn’t much good!
I’ve also been working on this scalloped crochet blanket…
See the little basket thingo? I got that from Judy at the mystery retreat and discovered that it works really well to hold my ball of wool… I can even sit outside without worrying that my wool is going to roll away off the balcony…
Of course that is in theory… in reality it started raining just after I took that picture, so me, my blanket and my basket of wool hurried back inside! I can enjoy the river view from the inside of the cabin as well 🙂
Hope you are all have a lovely weekend and get a chance to sit and relax a bit too…
That stitchery is so pretty – maybe a Bronwyn Hayes?? Lovely view – the only thing that could top that for me would be the ocean.
What a beautiful location.
Looks like a very nice spot to relax. Elizabeth sounds like a girl after my own heart with her sketchbook. I hope the rain cleared off for you xx
Looks and sounds great…. Enjoy…..
I have learned to always carry/bring more than one needle with me–I never lose one–until I am away from home–lesson learned!!!
Love that view and am glad you are getting some girl time and a break from driving–though that ‘job’ should be about done–correct??
Oh and I thought you were going back mid Aug-so where are???
enjoy, di
What a nice relaxing weekend! Looks perfect. I love your little crochet afghan. Where did you find the pattern? I prescribe an afternoon nap while you’re away.
What a lovely weekend for you and Elizabeth. Is it the Murray River I see flowing by? Your crotchet is lovely, well done. Elizabeth’s drawings are so sweet. Xx
What a great place to have a getaway!
Looks like a beautiful place to have a getaway. Love the rug, such pretty colours. Hugs,xx
What a lovely spot to relax in and double lovely that you can do it with your daughter. Sorry you lost your needle! Hope you brought a spare! Nancy
Enjoy your time away, the river looks lovely, and glad you found a use for that basket thing!
aaaah – looks like a wonderful relaxing place to spend some time.
That looks like a fabulous place to have a getaway with your daughter! I’d love to have a place like that all to myself for a few days, too. =) It would be lovely not to HAVE to do one single thing for a couple of days.
