This is another catch up post.. partly from when I was at Judy’s in Bordertown, and partly from later in the month as a few parcels arrived in the mail…
It’s always fun to get gifts from fellow quilters, whether it be in person or in the mail, isn’t it? The first gifts I got were from two lovely friends who were at the Mystery quilt retreat with me 🙂
First up some goodies from Susan from Granny Smith Quilting… she knows how much I love cats, and I had admired this book she had a while ago…
So many fun projects in this book!
Now to find time to make some of them 🙂
Another thoughtful pressie from Susan was this shawl with cats on it… (she also knows I love wearing shawls!)
She didn’t forget DD Elizabeth either, and had this lovely handmade crochet scarf for her:
I must say I love the scarf… and when DD saw the cat shawl she loved it too…. so I think there will be some sharing going on there!!
The next lovely pressie I got was from Dione from Clever Chameleon Quilting… this beautiful shadow Applique cushion cover:
Isn’t it just gorgeous?
Dione has a tutorial on her site that shows you how to do this applique technique… so go check it out! I bought some organza the other day so that I can try it… when I go “home”…
By the way, this is the same method she used on her award winning quilt at the recent Adelaide Quilt show 🙂
So those were the gifts I got from two lovely ladies…. they are of course going in my suitcase to take home in a few weeks…
Then there were some parcels that arrived in the mail…
First one was from Alice, who always sends me the most fun things.. this time was no exception! First up was this gorgeous layer cake:
And then this:
Oh my!! How cute is that?!
It is in the suitcase. Of course.
Next parcel was from Sarah from Confessions of a Fabric Addict, a thank you for joining in on the Hands to Help challenge:
I’m going to have fun with these two little Moda packs!
They don’t take up too much space in the suitcase….. 🙂
And last but not least, a few days ago I got another parcel in the mail with some goodies from a giveaway hosted by Kaye from Kitten Stitching:
There are some lovely quilts in the book…
Actually the giveaway was the book, but Kaye was so generous and also put in the extra fabric and quilt labels! Check out the cute labels:
Well, that is quite a variety of goodies from my dear online friends, isn’t it? I love them all 🙂
My suitcase is getting rather full…. Thank goodness I get a little bit extra weight allowance because I am a frequent flyer – I am going to need it!
In other news…. we are at 110 hours 🙂 🙂
And two weeks till we go back “home”!
wow! What awesome gifts! You won’t need to buy anything for a very long time. Your friends have chosen wisely for you. Enjoy!!
lovely gifts, one and all! You will be very busy enjoying all the new projects.
gorgeous gifts, that second book looks like it has the perfect pattern for your shadow applique (the circles of flowers). Lots to keep you busy.
