I’m Here… and Almost Ready to Sew!

Yes, I am still here….. somewhere… and I am almost ready to sew 🙂
The last two weeks just disappeared on me… and I am still in catch up mode, but today for the first time I can say that I feel like I am “almost” caught up!
What have I been catching up on?
First of all unpacking….
While I was spending the summer/winter in Oz, DH was here working… and he also moved apartments. He moved all our stuff from our 1 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment so that DD can come and live with us. He only had a day to move it all, so I told him, don’t worry, just dump everything in suitcases and boxes …. and I will unpack it all when I get back 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
So he did just that 🙂
He unpacked his stuff and the bare minimum kitchen stuff, and I have been unpacking not only my luggage from the trip to Oz, but also all the stuff from the move!
And then there is jetlag….
Strangely enough, I always do better travelling this way, against time. Which most people struggle more with. Mostly I got into a good sleep routine pretty quickly. Of course there were still times when I was up at night…
Getting up in the middle of the night here is a bit different than getting up in the middle of the night in Ballarat.. in Ballarat the city is quiet – going for night drives with DS last month, we hardly had any traffic.
Here when you get up in the middle of the night you can look out the window at a city that never sleeps…
Considering the population of Ballarat is just over 100, 000 ……. and here it is just over 3 million, I guess it makes sense that there are more people than me up at 2am… or everyone is just jetlagged..
Malls and Cuppas…
I have been showing DD where I do my grocery shopping, and showing her the best places to have a cuppa. She was most intrigued by this:
My favorite cafe is called Bateel, and here it is in the second largest mall in the world.. next to an indoor waterfall 🙂
Those are not real people diving.
They have the best hot chocolate in town…
It’s basically made of hot milk and chocolate chips 🙂
After doing all those important things (having cuppas and getting groceries), there was time to get my sewing corner set up again…
Almost Ready to Sew…
I can’t say all my sewing stuff is organized… but I have made a start at least and today managed to get the sewing surfaces ready to go…
I still have to sort things in the cupboards, and have a few more suitcases to unpack…
But, I am nearly there!!
I was hoping to play with Nina today, but I think I’ll have an early night instead.
Still Catching up on Blog World…
I appreciate each and every comment I receive, and even though I sometimes get behind (ahem… more than sometimes, lately!), I do eventually get there!
Right now I am still answering comments and also visiting other blogs from the Welcome to My House Blog Hop. If you are like me and didn’t have time last week, then it’s still not too late! You can see the full list here and still go check out all the amazing posts – I am!
Oh, and I am very behind on my regular blog reading, but I will get there too…. 🙂
Hopefully I’ll be back again soon with some fun sewing…
Thanks for dropping in and being patient with me!
Good to see you are settling back in Joy…
Hugz
Glad you are settling back in ok & that you’ve got a lovely new sewing area set up. Hugs,xx
What a lovely view from your sewing area. It looks like you have more space. It must be great to be back with hubbie and having DD along. Xx
Wow – you’ve had a lot going on! Hopefully you can soon get your surroundings sorted out and you can settle in with some stitching.
oh – and I meant to say that you have an amazing view out your windows!!
Oh my … never a dull moment 🙂 That view from your sewing room is amazing and that indoor waterfall … wow!
Good to hear from you, look forward to see what you will be sewing and I think “I spy with my little eye” a purple quilt, that looks quilted, in one of those photos??
Good to see you both settling in & enjoying a cuppa out. I’m sure once you are sorted, the sewing will begin. Take care.
It takes longer to get back to ‘home’ and more so now that yours has been changed! lol Beautiful view, even for this country girl.
Settle in and enjoy that first sewing day!
Cool view in your sewing room! That would be one more thing to distract me. It looks very organized and ready to go. So that means that you will get me motivated too right????? At least I got rid of the spiders!!!
Typical husband!….LOL
Love the waterfall – and a great idea for a hot choc – I will try that sometime.
Happy settling in.
I want you to know that because of you I watched an introductory travelog type video on Youtube about Dubai, and saw some of the places you showed. Now I am educated. 🙂 Thank you.
You are not the only one getting behind – here it is, ewll into October and I’m just catching up on your travels! How exciting that DD is coming to live with you. You do sound like you have plenty to keep you out of mischief Joy!! My inbox is getting very full of ‘daysfilledwithjoy’ posts so I look forward to finding out what else you are up to!!
