Welcome to Day 14 of 31 Days of Getting Organized!
One last post about getting organized while travelling…. with this cute little travel tray:
I’m sure you have all seen these before.. there are a few tutorials out there, but I just made mine up as I went along – with a couple of 10″ squares… one day I’ll do a tutorial on this quick and easy project.
Basically it’s just two squares of fabric and batting sewn together, and some snap fasteners:
It is handy to put odds and ends in on a bedside table.. especially when the bedside table is actually a strange coffee table from the living area with a hole in the top:
What can I say… we’re staying in budget place with no bedside table 🙂
I am thinking I should make a bunch of these because they would also work well for putting embroidery threads in…. and I am also devising a sneaky design that will work on the plane – without losing all the contents…. stay tuned for that one!
Really, it doesn’t have to be a travel tray either – it’d be great for putting stuff in at home too… I guess it’s called a travel tray because you can pack it flat and it takes up such little space…
Have you made one of these “travel trays” before?
I have never heard of a travel tray before! I just use plastic bags in a train case to keep my things together! LOL Yours is much prettier. Nancy
Never heard of this, but it is very clever. My new thing for the day.
What a great idea! I’ve seen all sorts of cloth baskets for all kinds of uses but haven’t seen anything quite like this. Would be handy to take to quilt classes too – would help corral your supplies as you were working and then simple to pack away at the end of the class.
I’ve seen them with ties at the corner but this is a great idea!
What fun to have them around for all our little crafting ‘equipment’!
Brilliant and beautiful! Can’t get any better than that.
Terrific idea Joy. I need to make some. X
