  1. Meds are one thing that I am sort of organized about, since everyone takes them. They travel on the plane with me along with a note from the doctor stating who takes what. And now that the dog is back to 4 meds, I am in love with weekly pill holders.

  2. Interesting that you could even take meds with you. Here in the States you’d never get a doctor to prescribe them unless you’re already sick. Hope that DD is feeling better very soon!

  3. That’s rough-I hope she feels some relief soon..
I always travel with my multitude of prescription pill bottles in my purse!
(You never know if there is going to be a delay, etc, so keep the close at hand1)
We couldn’t get a script for antibiotics without a particular need , even for travel. You have to hope you stay well or depend on the local help!

  4. So sorry your daughter is feeling rotten – that’s definitely not fun, especially when away from home. When we go to see our #2 son and his family I always keep our medications in our carry on bag…just in case the suitcase gets lost. Mind you, from now on we plan to just use one carry on each and use the laundry facilities at their house while we’re there.

  5. Sorry to hear about your daughter- hope she recovers really quickly so you can hop on that plane….. The only medication I travel with is Sealegs for tavel sickness, oh and panadol. But thinking about it, maybe some eye drops and some throaties/cold and flu tabs should be packed as well – Iuckily I’ve not been caught out yet….! I’m not sure that I’d be able to get antibiotics ‘just in case’ – I wonder if our Dr would prescribe some?

  6. Hope your daughter feels heaps better – earache is just awful. so far I haven’t needed prescription meds but I always have a supply of general headaches, sleeping, leg pain, antihistamine…. blah blah etc for my moments of hypochondriatism…. Now I have to take real meds so I will need to be more organised but I would go hand luggage …

  7. When I worked 3 miles from Mexico, I always had penicillin in my refrigerator because one of the boys had chronic infections, and there were always tooth issues. I don’t even think about it now, but I also don’t travel outside the country any more. On my last trip, I just dumped what I needed in a wheel that was a weeks medications, but there’s also nothing I can’t live without a few days, and only two are prescription only. If I were traveling a lot, I would do what you do.

  8. In our community there is a ‘travel doctor’ who I see before oversea trips to areas where I know it will bd difficult to obtain meds. From the surgery you can purchase a travel kit that includes meds you may require. I haven’t done a search but I would be surprised if he was the only one in Australia. X

  9. Can you just buy antibiotics in oz/dubai then? You have to get them presecribed here. Doctors are worried that over-prescription means that drug resistant bacteria start to emerge.
