Welcome to Day 20 of 31 Days of Getting Organized!
There is so much to share about Goodnotes… it will take me a few posts I think! Today I will just tell you the basics of setting up a notebook, and then write more about it in other posts.
What is Goodnotes?
Goodnotes is basically a note taking app. You can buy it in the app store for just under $10, I think…
Once you open the app, you can create your own notebooks… or you can import something.
In this post we’ll look at creating your own…by clicking on “create notebook” you get these options:
There are lots of types of covers to choose from:
And some plain ones that are not so “out there” 🙂
There are lots of choices for the pages of the notebook too:
The “Essentials” gives you quite a few paper types:
Notice one of the options is squared paper, so you could totally do a digital Bullet Journal!
Once you’ve chosen your cover and notepaper, this is the screen you get:
Yeah, I chose a boring cover for this post 🙂
You can now add a title to your cover by tapping the screen:
To type the title, tap on text:
You’ve got quite a few options, like any other type of word processor – changing the font, size, color… obviously not as powerful as a full scale program like Word, but good enough for most things you want to do.
Swiping to the left will bring you to your first page:
Once on your actual pages, you can do the same thing – get a text box, and play with the style of it…
Then just type in what you want to type:
OR, if you have an apple pencil, you can write:
You can easily add as many pages as you want, by swiping to the left… and it will add a plain page.
You can also click on the top left little square boxes to get a thumbnail view of all the pages in your notebook:
And there you have the basics of setting up a notebook in Goodnotes…
While there are lots of options for setting up notebooks, I actually do something entirely different! And I will share that with you tomorrow 🙂
Great app, thanks Joy for taking a novice such as me thru it. X
Interesting to read about – who knows, maybe someday I will have the proper type of device and can play with it.
That does make it easy, but as for owning an iPad, as Mama used to say, chance would be a fine thing. =) Maybe someday, though!
