After 31 days of writing in a row, I took a break – hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have! Actually, it’s been a hectic week and I’ll tell you more about that in a while, but today I thought I’d share a few photos of my trip to Holland last month. Since I was writing the Getting Organized series, I didn’t really get a chance to show you many of the cool pictures I took (except for the orange bucket)… so I will share them in the next few posts…
We were staying in a little town called Delft.. which I am sure most of you have heard of – it is where Delfts Blue pottery and tiles come from. I’ve got lots of pictures of Delfts Blue coming soon… It is a cute little town, full of canals and little Dutch houses 🙂
A couple of times a week they have a market in the middle of the town, between two big old churches…
I went on the Saturday, which just so happened to be a crafty sort of market – just right for me! I got there just at the beginning when a lot of people were still setting up, so it wasn’t busy…
This first stall had lovely wool products from Scandinavia…
I loved this stall with cute crochet items:
I think most of those crocheted items are well beyond my skill levels, although the young lady did insist the cacti were easy to make… 🙂 You can check her stuff out on Instagram. Here’s a closer up pic of the cute little crochet cacti and animals:
Another talented lady was an artist that DD follows on Instagram…
I snapped this pic for my dad and Susan’s hubby… for inspiration (hint hint):
There were plenty of other non crafty stalls too…
Garlic for some… coffee for others:
Only just noticed the sign – it says:
Today’s Plan? Drink Coffee and be Awesome
I would have to change that to tea…. 🙂
Don’t you just love all these bags:
Holland is full of flowers.. and no Dutch market is without a few stalls with lovely bouquets for sale…
Aren’t these little Autumn arrangements cute:
If I lived there I would have bought one of the baskets…
But they probably wouldn’t have survived the trip home 🙂
And that was market day in Delft….
I love visiting markets, no matter where in the world they are… how about you?
I love markets. This one looks fabulous. Love those little baskets. Hugs, xx
Lovely pics Joy….so much to love and enjoy there. My goodness you are well travelled lass xx
What a lovely place to visit – thank you for sharing the photos 🙂
Lovely market, would be hard to keep my hands out of the purse!
Such a fun market to visit.. love seeing your pics of The Netherlands….
Did you buy a pice of Delft Blue ??
Looks like such a fun market! We have a farmers market here but it’s quite boring unless you happen to want vegetables. There are only maybe three vendors that have crafts of any sort and they’re the same every week, year in and year out. Sometimes they come up with new stock but it’s rare.
What a great market!!! I love the wooden items–someday I will try my hand at wood turning!!!
That looks like a delightful market. Coffee sounds good to me. 🙂
It looks like a great market! I so rarely get to visit one. There’s one in Market Square in downtown Knoxville in the summer, but I rarely go downtown. Last time I did, I tripped on a high curb, so that didn’t encourage me to go more often. LOL
