I’m a little late with posting the finishing instructions for Alice and my free block of the month… I’ll explain why later in the post… I know there are some of you who have finished nearly all the blocks, so in case you want to finish the quilt the way I did, you can download the finishing instructions from Craftsy..
Of course you don’t have to use these instructions, you can put them together any way you like! This was Alice and my first quilt design, and I can’t say it was perfect, but it was a learning curve, and it was fun to design and make!
As always, please let me know if and when you finish your version – we’d love to see pics!!
In other news, I have been very distracted with changes in our lives… yet again! And that is where the breaking news comes in…. For reasons I will not go into here on the blog, and after going around in many circles, DH and I have decided that DD and I will move back to Australia later this month…
Yep… another move for me!
While I am not happy to be leaving my DH to live on his own here, we can both see many benefits of making this decision. Of course we’d love for him to be joining us, but at this stage it isn’t possible.. so we have to be patient. We made the same decision many years ago, and it actually didn’t take long till DH came and joined us… so let’s see what happens this time!
So my poor “picture perfect sewing room” – looks like this now:
Well, that didn’t last long, did it?! Hahahahaha (hysterical laughter)!!
All I can say is – my life isn’t boring 🙂
So since my last post, I’ve been PACKING… again…. and looking at rental houses online that have space for Emmie G…. do you know how hard it is to find a house that fits a long arm?
I’m nearly done with sorting and then I am going to open a jelly roll that has been staring at me for the past week…. it’s been saying – “Open me… Start something new…” I think I will listen to it tomorrow and do just that 🙂
Holy cow! It seems like you only just got settled and organized. And yes, I can imagine how hard it must be to find a place that will accommodate a long arm – good luck with that!
Wow, that is a big life changer! I hope the move goes well and you find just the right space! Fondle that fabric to stay calm! lol
All your moves would make me dizzy! I hope the move goes smoothly, and EmmieG find the perfect new home.
Thanks for the finishing pattern Joy. Good luck with your move & i hope you find a home for you all & Emmie G. Hugs,xx
All sounds hectic, but as I already knew, I’ve been thinking about once you’re settled, a few days in Ballarat to do some catching up. Lots to show & tell for both of us. Take care, safe travels & see you both soon.
Congrads on your move home-that is AU seems like it is home for you–
so many hard decisions that one has to make these days–I know too–
I sorta moved back home–considering NY home base–but now know that Florida is really my home–can’t wait to get back there–it is sooo COLD and DAMP here–and Dark every day–miss that hot humid temps and the sunshine–and I did make me some good friends down there–at least when all is said and done–I know where Home is now–take care–
enjoy, di
I am not going to go back through your posts to remind myself about just how many times you’ve moved – but I seem to remember it’s a staggering number. I can’t imagine living apart from my DH – I’d quite handily starve to death (he does all the cooking since he retired). And to be moving as it comes into the Christmas season just boggles my mind!
such a hard decision but it’s good you both have finally worked out what’s best for all.
I think you’re very experienced in packing , I’d go crazy with all the moves.. good luck in finding a lovely home for you all.
Relax and have fun with the Jelly Roll.
Wow! What a change indeed. Will pray that all goes well.
Hi Joy, Sorry you have to do another move! Will there still be more moves after this one? You sure are a trooper about it. I think I might throw up my hands in despair! I have been sick. Went to Urgent Care today and have acute bronchitis. Just what I wanted on top of the CFS and the holidays coming up! Will you be moved by the holidays? Good luck. Nancy
Firstly your quilt is just lovely. My goodness what a job ahead of you but sometimes you just have to make the hard choices. I wish you well with your packing and journey home. Take care and safe travels xxx
I do admire how you take on these moves in your stride…. another reason for me to get to Victoria again… there are already so many. All the best with your packing Joy…. down under welcomes you home…..
Hugz
Virtual hugs as you juggle all that life throws at us. Xx
Your stitchery quilt has turned out beautiful, Joy 🙂 I hope all goes well with your shift…I’m thinking it wasn’t a decision made lightly…but you do seem to have a remarkable ability to get on with it and get it all done.
Your life is never boring…good luck wit the move and finding a home for Emmi – like trying to find a rental with a pet.
Wow, look what I missed while I was too busy for words! Thanks for the finishing instructions. Amazing to move back … and where are you looking for that rental? I hope you find something affordable and big enough for everything. For some reason, I thought you had a house in OZ.
