My bags are packed, and I am almost ready to go. But first I wanted to share my amazing new found organizing gadget – the Fabric Strip Case for organizing and storing 2 1/2″ strips of fabric, aka jelly rolls 🙂
Nora came to visit on the weekend because she is doing a class here in Dubai.. and so of course we had to catch up for a cuppa… She needed to go to Classic Quilts to pick up her class kit and suggested we meet there. I was quite happy to oblige!
It’s always fun to visit Classic Quilts, and right now they seem to be celebrating 125 years of Bernina:

There were a few new things there since last time, like this Sweet Sixteen set up:

There was fabric on sale…

…and I was good and didn’t buy any!!!
I had a glance at the Accuquilt Go! (affiliate link) dies…
And again, I was good and didn’t buy any!!!
What I did buy, however, was two meters of batik for a secret project, and this handy dandy Fabric Strip Case that I saw at the last minute:

I had never seen one of these before!! They only had one, otherwise I know I would have grabbed at least one more 🙂
So as you can imagine, the strips go in flat… and then there are some plastic tabs that press down on them to hold them in place:

Those strips were leftovers from another jelly roll, so I think I would use it mostly for strips I cut myself with my Go! cutter, and odd strips left over from projects. You could also fit a couple of jelly roll strip sets that are packed flat like this:

But really I am planning on using it for those odd strips lying around getting tattered….
Do you have one (or more) of these? And if so where did you buy yours? I am not sure if they have them in Australia, but I will be keeping an eye out!

Cool idea. Never seen them before &it would be handy for those strips that are just lying around. Hugs,xx
WiTh a great find !! I’ve not been them in the US, but ill be looking 😀
Fabulous shop… I’m surprised they didn’t have the Bernina that’s like the Sweet Sixteen set up?
Oh that box for 2 1/2″ strips is a great pick up. I’ve never seen one but would be very handy.
When you flying to Australia 🇦🇺?
Hi Joy, That looks like a neat box. I have not seen one like that before. Not sure if I would need one of those though.. I have never bought a jelly roll. What is the advantage and what do you use them for? Thanks for your comments. Nancy
They are a really natty idea & you could also store all those leftover binding strips in them. Hope to see you soon. Safe travels, take care & huggles.
I’ve never seen once of those cases – looks like it could be pretty handy. And not to be picky, but that’s a Simply 16, not a Sweet 16. I’m a Sweet 16 kind of girl!
I’ve never seen those before…. handy size…. happy travels….xx
Hugz
I’ve never seen such a storage container either but what a great idea. Be safe on your travels!
That’s a new idea to me, too! Very clever!
Oh what a great idea – I know if I saw oneof those, I’d grab it too…..!
