Can you believe another year has gone by? I must admit, I am happy to see the end of 2018…. two international moves in one year was a bit much for me!
I am hoping that this year I can just stay put – other than visiting my man in Arabia of course 🙂
Sewing & Quilting Goals
You know what it is like at the beginning of every year… time to set goals and plan!
I wanted to start the year off with sorting out my UFOs… that was before I moved countries and houses…
In our new house I have a really big sewing room! Which is great… but at the moment it looks like this:
So, my first goal for this year is to get my sewing room organized… again….
Hopefully that will only take me a week… (Hahahahaha!) (I am trying to be positive here!!!)
THEN it’s on to UFOs…..
I know a few of you will have the same sewing goals as I do, so I am in the process of setting up a private Facebook group for you to join so that we can work on some of these goals together in a safe place… more on that in another post soon 🙂
Home Goals
Please tell me I am not the only one who, on the 1st of January, who decided to be organized in all areas of the home….
One of the ways I want to do that is by getting my routines set up this month, and using my planners.
The December planning pages I got out last month helped me keep on track despite all the things that were going on, so I was quite pleased with that. If you haven’t downloaded them yet, they are still free, so you might want to get them for next year 🙂
I am working on putting out regular planning pages each month, but of course all my plans went crazy last month, so January’s are not done yet! Let’s see if I get time over the next few days…
Health Goals
Again, I am probably not the only person who decided to start again with all those diet and exercise plans…. My plans are pretty simple this year… try to eat low carb, cut out sugar, and start walking…

Just in time for the new year is this Meal Planning Bundle (affiliate link) from Ultimate Bundles.. I bought it last year and in my humble opinion you can’t have enough recipe ideas 🙂
This year’s bundle is all new and very different from last year’s. I like the way they have done it actually. There are a heap of cookbooks included in the bundle, like these:
But then this year they have included meal plans (affiliate link), which link back to the recipes in the cookbooks. They have over 30 specific meal plans – for example, slow cooker, paleo, freezer, budget, etc, etc..
Also included are guides to meal planning and meal planners themselves…
Oh, and some courses… I’m looking forward to doing the freezer cooking one… because I want to do meals ahead so that I have more time for sewing 🙂 Of course 🙂
Anyway, there are my health goals and some motivation and resources to kick start my year. You may find them useful too. You can check out the whole bundle (affiliate link) and see what you think…. They give you a 31 day money back guarantee as well 🙂
I am still working my way through the bundle, but finding lots of ideas and good recipes.. I’ll be sure to tell you which ones I love during the year.
So I guess that is it for my main goals…. Of course I’ll be giving you lots of updates during the year on how I am going – here, in my newsletter and in my soon to be created facebook group 🙂
What are your goals for this year?
Great to see Emmie G has found a place to live…. I’m sure you will both spend many hours together…. lovely that you will have that big space to play in and do all those things…
Hugz
the new sewing room sure has great possibilities–roomy, light and organized space to come!!!
Oh dear – if I bring one more recipe into this house my Resident Chef will revolt, so I’m afraid the meal planning won’t be for me. I know enough not to meddle in things that involve me ending up having to cook myself!! Looks like you have a wonderful sewing space and you’ll have fun getting it all organized. I’ve been working for days on mine and despite getting rid of (and using up) a lot of ‘stuff’, it still looks the same. You’d think there would be at least SOME empty space, but nope.
That is a nice big room & can’t wait to come & see it. Oh, the old “if only” we hadn’t moved, we could do the walking together. Around the lake? I’ve always loved meal planning & slow cookers are definitely a favourite. With only 2 of us these days, there is always plenty for extra meals to freeze. I must work out some goals too, especially for my quilting & more exercise. How hot is it there? We’ve reached 43.9, so maybe it’s going to top 44. Yuck!!!! Take care & talk soon.
Wow! It sounds like you are going full speed ahead. It must be so nice to have Emmie G. with you again. Have a wonderful week-end! Nancy
I am sure the move is a two edge sword – nice to be back in a larger space – in
AU???…. but away from your man.
Yes – plans are made – sewing plans are written down. Health plans – well I will try…meal plans – Great idea – but I can live without all that – just keep it simple….(less cooking means more sewing)
I’m sure you will sort that sewing room shortly.
I was trying my best to be finished organising by the end of last year 🙂 and I almost got there. I have loose quilting plans for 2019, health plans – much the same as yours, (I’ve found that we do best with lower carb meals, must be to do with our age), and home plans – get my routines going again and make lists. Looking forward to seeing your sewing room, once it is all organised it will look wonderful.
Having somewhere to live is a good start! Good luck with your yer Joy – I hope you soon feel settled and into a good routine – with a whole lot of sewing added in 🙂
