Phew! I survived the 14 hour flight and arrived in the sunny, humid Gulf of Arabia! I have adjusted pretty well to the change in time zone, and have been thinking that I NEED to get the first free Mermaid embroidery up!
UPDATE: THE STITCHERIES ARE NO LONGER UP FOR FREE, BUT ARE NOW AVAILABLE IN THE MEMBERSHIP.
Of course before I left, I ran out of time to trace any stitcheries, so unless I head out to a quilt shop in the next week or so, I won’t be stitching these embroideries up until I get back to Oz in June…. sigh…
This year’s Mermay Stitchalong will be a bit different – there are only three blocks… we decided 6 blocks like last year was a bit much 🙂
In the end that has worked out well, because we are starting a week late.. so the first block is this sweet little mermaid with a bouquet of flowers…
You can do her any size you like – she is designed to be printed out on A4 paper, but of course you can resize her to be smaller.
The blocks will be up for free for a month, so spread the word and get your friends stitching as well!
Oh, and don’t forget that last year’s Mermaids are now up for free in my FB group – Stitching with Joy!
As always, I’d love to see your finished embroideries, so please email me a picture, or tag me on Instagram or Facebook!
In other news.… I nearly had a stowaway in my suitcase:
I mean, there was plenty of space, my suitcase was half empty…
but I don’t think she would have enjoyed the trip… do you?
Glad you arrived safely. My goodness that would have been a surprise at customs. But how cute. Must be lovely to be back with hubbie. Good time to be there with the weather getting colder here. We have to plan a catch up when you are home. Enjoy. Xx
No, I don’t think kitty would have enjoyed the trip! LOL Nancy
Thanks so much for the mermaid stitchery!
Good one Sapphy & your new mermaid is lovely. Enjoy the break & take care.
What a cute wee mermaid! I love your ‘almost stowaway’ – imagine your surprise when you reached your destination and found her. Talk about an adventure! Enjoy your time with your DH….hopefully it won’t be too long before you can be together and not have to long-distance travel.
Wonderful Mermay design! I do NOT think that kitty would have enjoyed the trip at all! Cute one, though.
So glad you arrived safely, and kitty is certainly lucky not to have gone via luggage. I am looking forward to this Mermay stitch along, I have a 6 year old niece that loves mermaids so I think something for her room would be nice.
Hi Joy, this is my first visit to your lovely blog.
Is your kitty a Birman? We have a seal point Birman, our Gemma is 12 months old, and of course, we think she is just beautiful too!
What an adorable pattern. Thank you ….
Sweet wee Sapphy – I’m sure she’s much happier back at home and not packed in a suitcase on the other side of the world. Glad to hear you arrived safely. The Mermaid is lovely, thank you.
