As the weather is heating up here, I’ve been staying close to home and only venturing out into the heat a couple of times a week.. when I NEED to….
The other day I decided I’d been indoors for too long and NEEDED to go out… After weighing up several options, I had the bright idea of visiting Craft Land, a shop that has a lovely variety of craft supplies and fabric!
It’s been a while since I was there last, and I was particularly looking for some sock yarn (more on WHY I was doing such a strange thing another day)…..
Even before walking into the shop, I could see lots of eye candy…
Their range of threads is pretty cool…
As is the yarn…
One corner of the shop is just for fabric…
I was a good girl and didn’t buy any… because I don’t NEED more fabric 🙂
In the middle of the shop is this cozy little area…
In the past I have seen ladies sitting here and enjoying a knitting class, while in the classroom another group of ladies were quilting….
There weren’t a lot of quilts hanging in the shop area, but I did take a pic of this one above the books and patterns for sale….
I didn’t NEED any more books or patterns either… so what did I NEED and what did I buy?
Just half a yard of this:
It’s for my Mermay blocks.. Of course I have a whole bolt of similar fusible stuff for embroidery back home in Oz, but I didn’t bring it with me..
In any case, I have enough for a couple of blocks now, which I’ll be lucky to get stitched up before I head to my other home in a few weeks…
So that was a bit about Craft Land.. if you are ever in this region, be sure to visit!
Sounds like you enjoyed your visit Joy – it sure looks like the sort of shop one could easily lose track of time in!!
Looks like a great place to spend some time! And good for you for only buying what you needed because I know I would be sorely tempted.
It looks like a lovely shop to spend some time playing…. I hope it was cool too…

What a fabulous store….I love the little thread box in the first photo…
`Such restraint!!
how nice would it be to have something like this close to me . . .
What a beautifully laid out shop. I love the way they’ve done their shelving & the different craft areas. No sock wool? I know somewhere that we’ll try & get to once you are home. Some of it is dyed right here in southern Victoria. Freezing here with no more than 8deg today in West Gippsland with black leaden skies & rain started about 2.30pm again after a dry morning & we’ve also had horrific winds. Take care & see you soon.
That looks like a well-organized and well-stocked place for not looking very large. Wish we had one like it nearby.
Nothing nicer than a well stocked craft shop to lift the spirits.
