I’ve been in a baking mood lately – a pizza scone baking mood to be precise…
I used to make these pizza scones all the time when the kids were little. I got the recipe from a friend, handwritten, and pasted it into my recipe book. It’s been so well used that the page became quite ratty.. so I typed up the recipe and laminated it…
I have quite a few of my favorite recipes laminated – makes them easy to clean!
Pizza scones start with a normal scone recipe…. you can use your favorite.
The scone dough gets rolled out onto a floured surface… and spread with yummy toppings…
Then it gets rolled up…
and sliced into little pinwheels…
After 25 min in the oven (I like my pizza scones well done and crispy)…
Mmmmmmmmmmm!
I also made butterscotch scones…
I cook them a little less – for only 15 min or so..
Oh, and I do double the recipe so we have leftovers 🙂
This was my lunch today:
The main problem with baking (and cooking for that matter), is that this is how my kitchen ends up looking:
Thank goodness for a dishwasher! I have to run it twice most days…
The kitchen is tidy now… and it is bedtime… hopefully tomorrow I’ll get time to sew!
I think I’ve made these pizza scones at least once a week for the past month!!
Do you get into baking moods for certain things too?
I haven’t made pizza scones for years so I must do that again – yours look delish! I do have my favourite recipes I like to make over and over again, my Anzac biscuits were still being made well after April 25th and I do have a yummy apple cake recipe that turns up often…..
They look delicious. I haven’t made the savoury pin wheels for years. I’m sure Trev would love them, thanks for the inspiration. X
those look yummy….. oh gosh I haven’t baked for ages…. just haven’t; felt like it though I always used to enjoy doing it… and eating it!
Hugz
And I can tell you they are “yummy”!!!! We’ve tried them. I used to make a great coffee scroll, but when there are only 2 of us & family all live away, I just don’t do the same baking I did before. Must do some though as we’ve run out of cake/bikkies for morning/afternoon teas. Take care.
Yumm. I’ll be down later for lunch. 🙂 use to make pizza scroll too when my kids were little. Maybe i should make them again. :). Like Susan i used to make a scrumptious coffee scroll but stopped for some reason. Those butterscotch rolls looks so yummy. Hugs,xx
Rarely! These look very good–nice work on the baking front!
Mmmm…..those look pretty tasty! I love pizza and I love scones, so sounds like a win/win to me!
They look so good, and I am almost tempted to go make some, but Max is calling, need to finish a custom quilt. Perhaps I will bake them “one weekend” when I have people here??
Those look delicious! I will have to look up a “favorite scone recipe” as I don’t have one. LOL My kitchen is tiny, so I have to wash as I go. My dishwasher is broken, too, so it’s just my two hands. Which work nicely. I don’t think they look good just because I’m hungry.
These look so delish I’m drooling for them now! I don’t have a scone recipe, although I’m always on the hunt for one. If you can, will you send me yours? No rush, but they do look good! Thanks.
