Last year I asked three other bloggers to join me in making a tutorial each for the Sew Early For Christmas Tutorial Blog Hop! This year we were all too busy to do a new one, so I thought I’d remind you of the projects we made last year.
Susan from Super Mom No Cape! was first on the list with this gorgeous Quilted Christmas Wreath pillow cover :
Ahem.. I am still working on mine… I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to finish.. but it is one of my third quarter goals, so here’s hoping!
Next up was Pam from Threading My Way, who made this clever Drawstring Gift Bag with Divider.. .for Nail Polish!
This was my version (without the dividers):
My tutorial was third in line, with some quick and easy Fabric Christmas Crackers:
And last, but certainly not least, were these cute Snow Globe Coasters made by Dione from Clever Chameleon Quilting:
I bought all the materials to make the snow globes, but didn’t quite get them made. They are still on my to do list, however, because I think they are super cute!
When you go and visit the blogs above, make sure you check out their other tutorials because there is plenty of inspiration for making things ahead for Christmas!
Now I had an idea that I would host a “Sew Early For Christmas” tutorial post on the 25th of every month from now till November… they might be tutorials that I have made, or links to tutorials from around the web….. so if you have a tutorial on your blog or website that you would like me to feature, then I would love to see it! The more inspiration, the better!
Don’t forget to download the free embroidery ornament stitcheries before the end of the month – after that they will go in our shop.
And make sure you check out the Hexagon Table Topper post (read till the end of the post so that you can enter the two giveaways!! )
The Hexie Table Topper is quick and easy to make for Christmas gifts since it is all done by machine with NO Y SEAMS! Pattern will be up in our shop AFTER the giveaway ends!
Hope you feel inspired to start sewing for Christmas!
Lovely to sew for Christmas in July when you aren’t pinched for time!
Hi Joy! What a great idea, sharing the tutorials. I actually have a cute and easy Christmas gift idea but never wrote about it on my blog (it’s pre-blog, I guess). I’ll see if I can’t get together some instructions and pictures soon. It’s for a snowman hanging, so technically it could be for winter not just the holidays but might make a nice gift. I’m writing it down so I don’t forget. HAHA! ~smile~ Roseanne
Thanks for reposting these fun Christmas projects!!! What did you put inside the Christmas crackers?
Thanks so much for sharing these again Joy!
All wonderful small projects that are perfect from Christmas giving! It’s fun to see all the Christmas in July posts ’round and about blogland.
Love all of these! You know that race you challenged me too? Well, I finished my cushion, so does that mean I win, or not til I blog it? Lol. Hope you are keeping well, see you soon. xx
Thank you for your generosity in sharing your oh so cute patterns. I love hexagon and would love to win your pattern.
A great idea, Joy. I don’t think I have any tutorials. I’ve made lots of Christmas stuff, but always from other people’s designs.
