  1. A lovely post. I remember just loving Anne of Green Gables …. and I never read the Prairie books but loved the TV series. Another pretty ornament and enjoy sorting your scraps. I have done some gardening supervision and a bit of sewing this weekend… pretty lazy…

  2. Loved the post! What a cool thing to visit that book shop-I can imagine the smell of all of those books! The teapots were very cool as planters!!! I need to stitch up the ornaments I drew for my Floridian views so you can see them!

  3. That book store looks like my kind of place! I would have been hard pressed not to spend all my money (and then some!) no doubt. Re-reading the Anne books is on my list, along with The Lord of the Rings and all of James Herriott’s books (currently reading the book about him written by his son….great fun).

  4. What a treat to go on that outing! I was charmed that the Laura Ingalls Wilder books have been popular down under. I loved them as a child and should re-read them! A couple of years ago, an American fabric company came out with a line of fabric based on her books.
I love the Anne of Green Gables books too! Two summers ago I was lucky enough to visit Prince Edward Island. It is just as lovely as I had imagined.
I am about to start a quilt mystery and am very inspired by your productivity! Go Joy Go!

On Tuesday school starts for the new year…I teach middle school so am preparing. I need to be sure to craft to deal with any stress! So I am crocheting this weekend and choosing my fabric for the mystery.

By the way…what type of bird is that? So exotic to this Virginia girl!

    Love, Erika

  5. That bookshop looks great & wondering if it is in Clunes. I’ve most of the Anne books plus some of her other books too. The magpie is a male & when we visit next time, I’ll tell you how to work out which is which. Look forward to coming home & catching up soon. Take care.

  6. Hi Joy, Your new Christmas ornament is very pretty. I still read the Little House on the Prairie books. I have a set of Anne of Green Gables but they are small print and I wish I would have waited and bought a larger print. Nancy

  7. My late father in law once said that the older he gets, the faster time goes by. He was so right!!! I loved all of the Anne of …. books and recently watched on Netflix. Unlikely I’ll read the books again, but am waiting on the next series on Netflix. Love the old teapots. I’ve been looking for one ever since my daughter bought one for my Mum.

  8. Time is definitely flying by, bit scary just how far we are into the year, and where has it gone?? Lovely book shop, I am sure I could spend some time in there too.

  9. Wow, I guess those are first printing or something. I do like having first editions, but I have quite a few from just living through their original publication! =) I like that little ornament you’re working on! It sounds like you had a lovely day with your daughter. Thanks for sharing.
