Welcome to the first day of the Nifty Novelties Blog Hop, hosted by the lovely Marian from Seams to be Sew!
This is sure to be a fun blog hop, because our mission was to take a novelty fabric and use it in a project!
Now, not only are you going to get lots of nifty novelty inspiration in this blog hop, but there are a bunch of giveaways! So make sure you read till the end of each post!
I don’t know about you, but I see some cute novelty fabric and buy it… and then it takes me forever to decide how to use it! And then it sits on my shelf for a loooong time…..
Maybe it is also a reluctance to cut into the cute fabric? Not sure, but when I heard about this blog hop, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to use some!
This blog hop was initially supposed to be happening the last time I was in the Middle East… and as usual I left my project to the last minute and then took it with me in my suitcase to finish by hand…
All it needed was to pull the ribbons through… sorry I don’t seem to have a photo of the fabrics on their own.. but here is the finished item…
Yes, another drawstring bag made from Pam’s Drawstring Gift Bag Tutorial! Have I mentioned how much I love this bag….? I think I have….
I didn’t put the dividers in because I just wanted it to be one open space to put some sewing stuff in…
Perfect for travelling! Oh, and yes, instead of a plain ribbon I decided to use a “novelty” ribbon as well… because I have lots of them lying around too 🙂

Additional Notes About Giveaways From Our Sponsor
I am not rich and I do not ask sponsors for money, they provide prizes only.
If they shipped the prize to me, you will be asked to pay for shipping.
All giveaways will be shipped that are in my home on each Saturday of the event.
An invoice will be sent to you via Paypal, and shipping will take place via Paypal, so your Paypal email will be needed to send the invoice. You will receive a tracking number except for overseas shipments. Depending on the weight of the prize, first class is always my first choice, but priority mail will be done where needed. Paypal fees are added to that amount to cover that fee.
Please note, every effort is made to protect the prizes. They go into a plastic bin when I receive them, and it is covered by an airtight cover. I have a dog in my home and I have a smoker in my home, so I do everything possible to protect the prizes.
Most companies are very good about getting prizes off to customers quickly also, but some companies are overseas, so please allow all sponsors a 2-week time period before you report to me that you still haven’t received your prize. When the company is overseas, it can take 6 weeks to 90 days for an item to also arrive.

Hi, here I am back again a day late and a dollar short. Do you remember that phrase? My grand daughter thought I’d gone bonkers when I said it to her. We all can use a little ditty bag. I use to teach Girl Scouts to make these. I guess need to say I am entering this entry at Days Filled With Joy.
