I’ve been super busy since I got back from Arabia – first getting over jetlag and trying to get the house in order after being away for a month… then helping my parents move into a retirement home… I’ll tell you more about all that in another post…
The long and short of it is that I haven’t had much time to spend in the sewing room…
However, I did manage to sneak in there to make a few small things for this blog hop, because I didn’t want to miss out on the fun!
My head had been spinning with ideas on what to sew.. but when I came across this tutorial, I decided that is what I would make….
Cute mini scissors cases with extra spots to put pins and needles and other odds and ends!
I used some fabric I bought last year, designed by Jodie from Ric-Rac , and then I decided to try them with some batik I bought at Nora’s last month…
A little less cutesy, but still pretty.. although before I give them away I need to find some matching scissors and other odds and ends… I do know someone who likes batik… and purple…. as for the other ones, let’s see who ends up getting them!
These cute little scissors cases are quick and easy to make, and the tutorial is very easy to follow. So be sure to check it out!
The others who are posting their gift ideas today are:

Hi Joy, I hope you are feeling better and your parents are settled nicely. That is a super cute scissors case. I like the pink and yellow one over the darker ones. Nancy

Scissor holders!! What a fabulous idea! I love it — what a great favor this would make for a Stitcher’s group retreat or party! Also — when I tried to get here from another blogger’s link for you, it didn’t work. I realized the date in the url was wrong (it was 12 instead of 13). I hope that doesn’t slow your traffic — because everyone needs to see this cute gift idea!! 🙂
Yay, you fixed it! Those are wonderful cute, and I have some scissors which are too long for a regular leather case, but these might be just right. Thanks for the great idea!
Those are awesome! I love how the are a place holder for pins and needles too. Makes a great for a cross stitcher as well as a sewer. Thanks so much for sharing the tutorial link. I’m going to have to make some of those.
