Plodding Along…

And I do mean plodding… this month has just been that type of month it seems! I am putting one foot in front of the other, slowly… but don’t feel like I am getting anywhere!
After getting over jetlag, some time was spent helping mum and dad move into a retirement village…
Since they have moved to a house half the size… I had to take back my leftover shop stuff that they had been storing for me…
So I have been trying to find space for it here… safe from cats and mice…
Looking at it all makes me wish I was “home” again in my lovely studio where I can unpack everything….. but oh well, such is life at the moment!
I finally unpacked my fabric from my trip away… including some lovely batiks…
These fabrics were chosen by a friend so that I can make her soup bowl cozies:
This fabric is for a special project….
As are these…. I am thinking bags, with the blue in the middle able to match both sets of florals:
But before I could start sewing with all my new pretties, I got sick….. and have been sick for the past five days….
It’s a strange thing, but this year I haven’t had a cold, or the flu – but I have managed to pick up every gastro bug that has gone around!!!
Today I am finally feeling slightly more human, and have been pottering around the house and hope to make it to my sewing room soon….
As usual I am behind with blog reading and comments… I might catch up one day.. you just never know… 🙂
Hope you are spending more time in the sewing room than me!
Hope you are feeling better real soon, Joy!!
I hope you are feeling better, no fun to be sick! Fun fabric finds!
Joy, I’m sorry you’ve had a difficult time of late. I know what that’s like. Here’s to healthier days ahead, and I hope you can get in some sewing time. Sewing is sometimes the best cure there is!
Oh my–it seems as if you or a family member gets all settled and then one of them needs to move–so don’t know how you do it and with all the flying to here and there on top of it==them trying to keep up with some sewing—but I do have have to say–those fabrics in all the photos are very yummy looking and should brighten up your day working with them–have fun!
luv, di
My sympathies on being sick, again! The supplies will be nice to have close by but it is hard to find homes for everything! Hope your parents are doing well.
I am sorry you are not feeling up to par. That is a lot of things to find a place for. I love rose pattern material. It must be hard not living in one place all the time. I plod along all the time but hope your able to get back to normal soon. Nancy
Hope you get to feeling better soon!
Feel better soon! You have lots of sewing to do! 😉
Gastro bug this time of year seems to be everywhere. I hope you are feeling on top of the world soon. Loved the rose print fabric, gorgeous in a little girls dress. I am clearing my mums house for sale (sadly she has had to move into a nursing home for her safety). It is a big job and I’m finding it very emotional. I know she treasured everything she had so I want to be respectful with every decision I make. It’s hard when I’m at the age I have to think about downsizing too. Xx
aaargghhh….. sorry you are not feeling well…. those stupid bugs can really knock it out of you…. hope all goes well for your parents move. You will need to have a dig in those boxes and find treasures, or maybe you are not like me and can remember what is in them all! Lovely batiks and I do love that rose fabric too…. look forward to seeing what you make with them all. That must be a lot of bowl cosies that you are making?
Hugz
Sorry you are unwell Joy. Feel better soon. Hope your parents settle well into their new home. Some gorgeous fabrics came home with you xx
Hope you’re feeling better. How inconsiderate of your parents to move (and yes, I’m kidding!). Trying to find storage room isn’t always easy so I don’t envy you.
